First off, no I’m not for overhauling the classic completely, I’m very excited for what it brings and would like to see it as class to vanilla as it can be but wit that being said.
No changes at all makes absolute no sense. Blizzard is giving us the opportunity to play our favorite version of WoW yet anytime someone suggest a minor change (sometimes a big one) everyone is all about the no changes, go back to retail. It’s kind of like going back to your old highschool but before you walk in the door to reminence and enjoy the old times you’ll also need to have all the horrible ones with it, ELSE GO BACK TO RETAIL.
No point in running with your shoes tied together if you have a chance to fix some of the stuff that was “intended by developers” yet was patched/fixed later on.
It was a great game. Wouldn’t it be cool if it could be better? Don’t bring all the QoL improvements but the weird buggy/glitchy stuff. You can get an authentic experience w/o the headaches.
I somewhat agree with you, but its clear the only real way to do it is with no changes. If I had my way a UI customization system and a DPS meter would be standard and all Add Ons outside of that would be broken.
This isn’t a platform for me to spew off my ideas but more so to point out that people that so no changes are seeking something they won’t find with Classic.
If you want an authentic experience, you’ll need to dial back you internet speeds, sell your current computer and play on an older system, else you should just go back to retail.
No changes doesn’t mean bug fixes. It means no new addition that wasn’t part of the original version. It means no balancing specs just because you think they should or lower mob difficulty gor leveling.
Except they already said they are trying to fix bugs, and I’m about 90% sure they said there will be no wall walking which eliminates a ton of the glitching.
This is like venturing out into the real world and getting a mosquito bite - so wanting to re-engineer the world and get rid of all insects. The impulse to change (improve) classic WoW is so misguided and short sighted that it is just crazy.
This argument again. Every Pro-Change player on these forums have been throwing this argument out like they’re being clever or something. I’ll bite: You can have an authentic Classic experience without going back into the dark ages. Just don’t add changes to the game. It’s really that simple.
That’s pretty flawed logic. Some of us had fast internet and high end gaming PCs in 04-06.
You know what we didn’t have? Guild banks, LFG/LFR, never ending mana pools, personal loot, random quest rewards turning into epics, etc…etc… Yeah, we had nice PCs and Fast Internet. We didn’t have those other things. Big difference.
Your high end pc and internet speeds from over a decade ago don’t compare to anything now a days I’m sorry to inform you.
There are ALOT of short falls in classic and not around just the classes. There are entire zones with maybe 3-5 quest to do, mobs/areas that have no real sense of purpose or place, and a whole list of things that make me scratch my head wondering what its purpose is in classic.
