Yellow Spell Animation

If this has already been discussed, I apologize.

When Monks were first introduced to WoW, I was really hoping they would resemble the Monks in Diablo 3 with yellow/gold spell animation and abilities.

This makes me think back to when Warlocks got a special quest line to obtain green fire. Maybe Monks can also get a special quest line for yellow/gold spells?

Do we have any other backers for the idea of yellow/gold spell animations for Monks? If so, how can we as a community get this idea to reach Blizzard?

Monks in wow are a different type of monk than in Diablo. So I don’t think it would even fit.

The monks in wow follow the 4 great celestials, The tiger for wind walker, Ox for brewmaster, and Jade Dragon and I believe the crane as well for healing.

The monks in Diablo follow a more Holy/Spirit route, their resource is even called spirit. I don’t think that would fit in with the pandaren culture and beliefs (Since they are the ones that taught the other races how to be a monk)

It fits for warlocks because they make pacts with demons and demons use fel magic as a source of power on many occasions

No. I want red healing spells before any other color. considering we were originally going to have chi-ji as the healing celestial for mistweaver. One of the reasons they gave for removing it was “spinning crane kick looked like a slaughter house.” Which I find a dumb reason. Because if you look at the 2011 monk preview spinning crane kick looks fine. At least to me cause I don’t see this “slaughter house” with the color chosen for crane kick. I would even be fine with a combination of red / white.

Glyph recolours really shouldn’t be hard - we already can change crackling jade lightning.

Technically whilst the monk specs have certain affinities with the celestial, they are supposed to draw from each of them.

Alas Blizzard missed the opportunity for making the monk class more thematically tied to the Celestials.

For example, whirling dragon punch would be much cooler if the monk had a spiralling green cloud serpent/Yu Lon around them as they executed it.

Fortification brew could have an animation where the monk gets a Niuzao head halo.

Spinning Crane Kick might have Chi Ji pecking targets.

Blizzard could have and could do so much more with monk spells/animations

Agreed. Also glyphs to me aren’t serving the purpose they’re suppose to. there’s far little cosmetic choices at all for every class. whole things need to be looked into.

edit: to put things into perspective.
Total glyph count (I might be missing some, but I think I got most)
DK 6
DH 9
Druid 14
Hunter 8
Mage 11
Monk 7
Paladin 6
Priest 6
Rogue 4
Shaman 7
Warlock 9
Warrior 9

funny thing on mage, and possibly others is most of theirs comes from their elemental. which is tied to one spec. I think they should try to hit 20-25 when it comes to total cosmetic glyphs across classes. There’s also needs to be more per spec. But that’s just what I think.

Yeah i agree the glyph system should have its range expanded, at least the system for customisation already exists though. Blizzard just need to give it more attention.

Uh not every single monk follows those.

Just putting that out there
