I got killed by an undead character with a yellow name. I know some npcs are green and players on your side are blue. Is this an enemy player or an npc? I thought the undead and blood elves were on the same side but I think it might have been a player because he/she jumped over and over again on my corpse after I was dead. I'm really confused by this.
Yellow mob names mean the mob or NPC is neutral - it won't attack you until you damage it. Players on the opposing faction who are flagged will appear yellow when you are not flagged for PvP combat. From the sounds of it you flagged yourself, and it's possible the person was wearing a silly vanity costume/effect on their character to make them look like an undead.
Also if you have class colors turned on rogues are yellow :D
what most likely is the case here:
yellow means the player is an enemy but you are not flagged so he can't attack you directly.
he could be undead - appearing by means of a Deception Orb, noggenfogger elixir or weird engineering teleportation devices, quest rewards etc.
did you right-click on him? are you sure he killed you not some hunter hiing behind a cliff?

He disappeared and the next thing I knew I was dead and then I saw him jumping on me and didn't see anyone else when I rotated the camera. He's was dual wielding so I guess he was a rouge. It might have been someone else for all I know. I didn't think of that till you mentioned it.
di his name turn red after he killed you? that's all we need to know. also did you release right away? what color was his name when you were down but before you released.
I let waited till he left to release. He was red when he was jumping.
maybe by some weird case you went to the gurubashi arena and was still flagged?
or that nagrand arena
edit:scratch what i wrote above, based your statistics you died from the opposite faction once, so Im guessing the enemy player was either under effects of Polymorphic acid potion or orb of deception

okay. he started yellow, ended red.
that meas]ns...he was flagged, you werent, you agressed him by accidet. maybe he walked into an aoe you did etc.
edit: level 17s don't walk into gugubashi or nagrand arenas...:)
yellow name means he's not yet hostile. but agressing him would make him hostile (red). he's yellow if you're not flagged but he is, because he cant attack you but you can attack him.

Please do not bump old threads, they can bring up out of date information. (Like in this thread.) In the future, start a new thread. If you feel like an old thread is relevent, link to it in the new thread.
I believe that your name turns yellow in a raid group to make it easier to keep track of your character in the confusion.
Yellow is neutral. Probably one hit point from unfriendly. I think it depends on faction. Horde can't fight horde npc's. It would have to be an outside faction. Or you started a duel or joined an arena. Or you aggro'd a hostile faction and rezzed before he went back on patrol and he stomped you again.
