Years of "WTS" in Group/Raid Group Finder

Blizzard, frankly you should be ashamed that you are unable to stop this. You’ve also made it harder to report the advertisements to clear them off screen. It used to be a single click report, and now you have to click multiple times to submit the report. As a result, I’ve stopped reporting these.

How is this so hard to solve?

Those wts spam accounts give them money

That’s why they can’t be bothered to do anything about it

To be fair it’s probably pretty hard to actually solve it.

But there are very easy steps they could be taking to limit it greatly.

And they haven’t, aren’t, and probably won’t.

Token vending machine go brrrrrt.

I don’t think a level 1 account should be able to post a Manaforge Omega heroic raid invite, full stop, can’t think of any reason that should be allowed.

It’s allowed because there is a demand for the supply and conveniently Blizzard is the middle man that gets a cut of every transaction by way of token sales.

Because it’s clearly such an astronomical feat to do something as silly as preventing sublevel 80s from posting M+ and raid groups.

100% this…
WTS = MicroBlizz Tokens = $$ for MicroBlizz

I don’t think it’s so much that they’re unable to stop it. I believe it’s more so that they don’t want to stop it.

Maybe the fact that they’re making money off the subs regardless is a big reason. My tinfoil hat is telling me there might be some people on the inside directly making money from these services too. But who knows

I’m glad I’m not the only one whose ‘report advertisement’ button stopped working. I’ve been gaslit so many times in other threads over this LOL. I stopped reporting because of this as well. 3 clicks is a lot when there’s like 15+ ads up. They also don’t disappear anymore even when you do report them, which is ANNOYING. No point in even doing it anymore.

It feels like it’s the worst this season than it’s ever been. Ads have always been in LFG but it’s horrible this season. Apparently because there’s no level requirement to list groups now? Weird route to go…

Sometimes I wonder if someone at Blizz is getting a kick back, but then again I can also get a hat at the grocer in the aluminum foil isle

I did spend hours trying to find a “Normal,” yesterday to find only ads and filled groups. I don’t mind the filled groups, but having ads be half the choices, and of those to an offsite credit card site annoys me

Worfs honor!

League of legends recently actually did stuff about coming down on botter account and said it was actually going to lose them a decent amount of money

Blizz is not willing to lose the finances

I’ve always suspected this, but of course, I can’t prove it. However, it is not off the table, in my opinion.

If you open the Group Finder, then select the “Filter” at the top right, you’ll find a Box near the bottom that allows you to type in a number for “Minimum Mythic + Rating”. Type in a number > or = 1… and it removes all listings of bots who have no rating. This effectively gets rid of ALL the WTS ads. Hope this helps.

Inorder for blizz to do something the players will have to accept the consequences of it. It’s easy to say lets have an AI ban everyone in a group with a wts, until you get hit by collateral damage. And are you ready to have an AI big brother watching over us?

This season is definitely the worst it’s ever been. It is nearly impossible to see groups with it being so choked with bot ads.

Cant even bother to put WTS on a blacklist for the group finder.

Can’t identify people who do nothing but start custom groups but never invite anyone.

Can’t be bothered to either block below max levels creating groups, or make a default toggle to ignore listings by below max levels.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re letting trial accounts create groups.

Just like bots, there’s a certain point where it’s obvious they don’t want to actually fix the problem.

Bots are paying accounts, too.

Versus us normies with just one, $15/mo account.

This is the reason.

They will legitimately make less money, and for what? To make some players happy?

That doesn’t pay as much.

There’s a lot of things in the world that should happen, and would make the world a better place, like environmental stewardship, but won’t because it’d cost something.

And profit apparently matters over all else, even if it causes ruin.

Bots are stolen accounts.

Taking access from one player and giving it to another isn’t making Blizz mad crazy money.

This myth about bots being paying customers is pretty funny.

Every single one?

Idk. I somehow doubt that.

I’ve seen bot videos, a lot are fresh accounts.

They have hundreds of them, and they keep new ones rolling in as the older accounts get banned.

It’s a treadmill of going through accounts.

Oh my gosh. If not for the previous 35 threads started on this issue I would have never known that it was a problem.
