I didn’t know about this mount until last month (someone mentioned it here in GD.)
I decided to try my hand at it.
I was very lucky, got my egg in the first hour of farming.
The daily quests for the first week or so were OK.
Then that annoying “fly through hoops” quest popped up. Oh. My. God. that was annoying. You can’t see where you have to go the first time you do it. I’d say slightly poorly designed.
I got through my month of daily quests today!
And I had to do that annoying “hop and glide” quest. It wasn’t “hard”, but it was a bit tedious. I kept fearing that the NPC would outpace me, since I kept dropping to the ground and having to hop up to get a few flaps and a glide or two in. But it eventually finished.
I rather liked the way they gave you flying on the mount. It was a cute little cut scene, where Kua’fon, who you’ve been raising now for a month, throws caution to the wind to save you. It was sweet.
But Pnow I Phave my Pfriendly Plittle Pterrorsaur Pmount.
If you don’t have this mount (it’s not my style of mount, but it isn’t ugly), I suggest doing it. The farm for the egg shouldn’t be TOO painful. And most of the dailies are less than a minute long. so a minute or so per day, for a month.

Tell that to my ferral who’s been grinding for the egg as she’s the only hordy I have. Still no egg, a few thousand kills at least.

aw crap, I’m so sorry.
Where are you farming for the eggs?
there’s a terrace on the left side of the pyramid across from the main Zandalari pyramid (sorry, I forget the name, but it’s where some of the dailies are.)
Just one level up from the mound with Jani’s ghost (the talking skinny raptor.)
I just ran back and forth there, never went inside. The only aggro mobs on that terrace are Pterrordaxes, and they respawn relatively quickly.
I did it on my Balance drood. She just moonlit everything from a distance, and they mostly died before even reaching her.
It took me a couple of months to get an egg. I’m pretty sure I have like historically bad luck with rng in this game. I do remember the quests being quite a drag after a bit though. If it had been half as long from beginning to end it would have felt better I think. It lasted long enough that the feeling at completion was more of a “thank god that’s over” instead of any type of accomplishment.

Well now I’m curious how the RNG would go for me with this one. I normally have really good luck with mount farms. Like the lasso for the ivory cloud serpent. Got it from the 6th mobs I killed. The egg for the callowed flayedwing. First mob.
Oh and also, with the ivory cloud serpent. After I got the lasso I flew up to the recommended point to wait for it to spawn, and it spawned after about 10 seconds. lol

Congrats!
It took me most of BfA before I finally got the egg. It it ended up aligning almost perfectly that I finished the dailies around the time that the Shadowlands prepatch dropped so I remember it fondly as my finale of the expansion.

Maybe the drop rate on the egg has been boosted since that expansion?
/fingers crossed
Eh, imo no mount was more annoying than the Wintersaber/Ravasaur trainers.
They’ve done a few of these, where you raise the mount from birth.
MoP had the Order of the Cloud Serpents.
Legion had the falcosaur quests.
Even Dragonflight has Whelpling Day Care, which works pretty much the same way (dailies) but you get a pet whelp at the end instead of a dragon, because we already got them coming into DF.
Yeah that’s where I go when I feel up to farming for a while.
