Its crazy how burning crusade still kept its very grounded high fantasy Warcraft tone where shadowlands and onward have missed entirely.

Metzen loves the “Cosmic Muck.” It has been a staple of Warcraft stories ever since the first orc walked through the Dark Portal.

BC weapons still looked high fantasy, we were fighting demons, bird people, ogres, orcs, naga and alien wild life.
In Ghost of K’aresh were fighting garbage shadowlands destiny 2 npcs.

So that would include infinite armies of space demons, energy beings, giant robots, robots made flesh, creatures of chaos and shadow, singing crystal chandeliers, and undeath… all of these are alien to Azeroth. WOW has it all…
I love Cosmic Muck.
I want an entire expansion where we visit the home worlds of every Demon Species.
Especially the Succubus world

The void is not cosmic. If anything the void is as none cosmic as you can get. If the game had more space related content over massive cosmic distances that would be amazing!
Orcs are extraterrestrial beings. As are Draenei.
The literal first expansion of this game was a medieval/sci-fi space adventure.
And then you have the Titans, which are literal space gods, being behind most of the origin story of WoW.
People who dislike cosmic stuff have tricked themselves into playing WoW without realizing most lore threads of this game universe lead into the cosmic, one way or another.
This was never “just a place with castles and magic”, when Draenor always existed.
If you thought it was, you never paid attention lol.

I don’t care, throw the whole kitchen sink in. I love the wild fantasy atmosphere WoW provides. It gives so many options to RPers whether they want to RP on the classic side of medieval fantasy or laser gun wielding bounty hunters. I love it.
Have some fun. Worry less about the story and more about whee look at that.
You fought ethereals in a large number of dungeons and zones in TBC, but NOW they’re not high fantasy for you? I think you forget how numerous they were in TBC lol.
You fight them in the 2 dungeons in auchidoun and 2 dungeons in TK isn’t really
