Ya'll ruined leveling for me. Thanks

I’m not someone who enjoys solo questing AT ALL. It’s boring, I don’t care about the stories at this point after having run this content a million times, and I prefer to level by random LFD groups so as to skip the boring questing treadmill.

Well, now apparently I’m stuck with a HANDFUL of dungeons depending on what expac I’m leveling in, meaning far longer queue times if no one else is playing that particular expac.

Why the heck not just open all dungeons up so long as you’re the appropriate level for them? Like before? Because this sucks and I’m seriously just about to cancel, because leveling through questing is just utter garbage after 15 years and many, many runs through this content.

I think making all the past content dungeons to all levelers would be a great change. Put checkboxes on the various expansions so you could disable certain expansions.

While I’d be happy to do most of them while leveling, I’d want to disable vanilla dungeons for sure.

Yeah I’m not sure why they took all those options out. I would select specific dungeons prior to the patch as well-- skipping the ones I didn’t like or were too long.

I’d be all for a true “random” dungeon finder. Make it be like some bigger reward if you want to queue for it. It pools all the dungeons across the entire game 1-50.

If people want to be picky they can queue for a lesser ‘expansion only’ dungeon perhaps. But those people would be lumped in with the people that queued for random. Sorta like how when you pick a specific dungeon you’re most likely getting 4 other people that picked random.

But yeah this sounds horrible the way they actually did this. Yikes. I was actually looking forward to making an alt but now not so much.

this is exactly what i wanted to see.

the option to randomize every expansions dungeons if i wanted to.

i just got a 15 min queue for MoP :frowning:

I am surprised it wasnt longer. Cata dungeons were terrible

Seems reasonable. If I had to guess I’d say pandaria and wrath would have the shortest Q times since more people like those xpacs.

I hate both of those expacs though, so because I don’t prefer those… I’m being punished by hour-long queue times.

It’s stupid. Really stupid. All they had to do was continue to random dungeon finder the same way as before: all dungeons of appropriate level are available to queue for.

Cata dungeons are what inspired me to go healer. I couldn’t stand waiting in those dps queues.

I guess it’s possible to go back to chrome change the expac, do the specific dungeons and then go back again

But an extra step and a PITA when changing this system wasn’t necessary to begin with.

but…you only had a stretch of dungeons at any given time. Once you out leveled classic dungeons that was it.
At least now you can go back to them assuming you havent hit 50 yet.
What we have now is FAR better than before. Not how I thought it was going to be, but until you hit 50 you can run any dungeons you want to run just by swapping to that expansion.

I don’t disagree it could be more user friendly. However it is possible to get them done

I dungeon level. So I hang out in SW anyways chrome is right there for me.

Agreed on all points. I was actually going to level an alt through TBC for nostalgia but with limited dungeon pools I’m doubtful I will be able to run my dungeon quests.

But Senpai, you’ll hurt Blackrock feelings for sure.

Nope. Post 58-ish, I had 2 expacs worth of dungeons to queue up for (WOTLK and TBC). At any given level range, prior to that (where everyone in my level range would also be queued for the same dungeons, meaning 5-8 minute waits MAX), I always have at least 2 expacs worth of dungeons to queue for THAT EVERYONE ELSE IN MY RANGE ALSO WAS.

Now those queues are broken up into what… 6?? different expacs, meaning the queue’d base is split apart into very small pools, and that instead of at -least- two expacs’ worth of dungeons, I’m stuck with a single one.

Another case of Great Idea, Horrible Execution.

I want to believe that Blizzard cared for the older expansions - but I suppose because they are older content that means it’s easier for them to put in the absolute bare minimum of effort.

It’s becoming increasingly clear to me, they want you to go through BFA. They allowed us to choose how to level to throw us a bone but the developers desperately wanted us to go through the BFA story.

I’m hoping they work on fixing these issues.

Until you hit 50, you can swap to any old expansion and run those dungeons.
This literally was the make or break thing for me given MY game mostly consists of locking characters so I can run old dungeons with that character any time I want.
Its not perfect, but its probably what we’re going to get given they seem to want to keep us somewhat confined to one expansions dungeons at a time. Kinda confusing given we can portal around the globe anyway…but it works.

How is this different than before?
You can only queue for one expansion at a time before right?

Before you were stuck with what level bracket you were in, and now you are “stuck” with which choice you make about leveling.

Either way, this doesn’t mean far longer queue times. It means the opposite likely.
But even if there were no players in a given expansion, you could easily just pick a different one, especially if you are not out there questing as you seem to indicate.

uh…like i said…once you outlevel classic, you were done…you couldnt then run those dungeons. Thats just a fact, guy.
NOW you at least can run any old expansions dungeons you want.
Its not perfect. Not like I expected. But it IS FAR better than what we had
