Hmm… What’s this Enhancement Shaman variant?
In all seriousness, I don’t know what ELE means, Elemental is listed as its own thing further down the list, it just made me laugh.
But also, I kinda wish Noxxic wasn’t consistently garbage and wrong, because their format is actually pretty decent. It’s like the dumbed down version of more in-depth guide websites. You know, if it were reasonably accurate.
Icy veins is still the best most accurate website in my opinion.
Rofl i remember noxxic, havent touched it since like mists though.

Noxxic? Hoo boy, this really takes me back.
You know this site was a cesspool of misinformation for a LONG time when WoW’s lead game director himself publicly roasted this site for spreading misinformation.
If you unironically use this site to learn how to play, you deserve to be insulted nonstop.

Or maybe they don’t know any better and we should just direct them to more reliable sources of information.

Of all the things I can think of that make someone worthy of being insulted, using Noxxic is not one of them.
Just link em to Icy Veins or something and move on.
I legitimately don’t know how a new player would stumble across this site anymore, though. The Wowhead and IV class guides are much more accessible, if you look for class guides these two are UNIVERSALLY recommended, and they’re much, much more accurate since they’re written by well-known theorycrafters who have a large class Discord presence.
The vast majority of even remotely competitively-minded WoW players will incessantly roast anyone who so much as brings Noxxic up in a conversation about learning to play a class. It’s such common knowledge that Noxxic is bad that nobody suggests the site, and nobody has suggested the site in well over a decade because it’s that universally accepted as complete junk. I’ve been playing this game for 13 years and I cannot remember a single point in time where you weren’t ridiculed for citing Noxxic. It’s like if The Onion reported the exact same stuff but actually took itself seriously.
It still shows up on the first page if you Google something like “frost mage guide.” I guess it’s common knowledge among those of us that frequent class discords and the forums, which is a good minority of WoW’s community. Probably wouldn’t be a great first experience to finally decide to engage with the community, only to get roasted for asking a question about something you read on what you presumed to be a legitimate source of information.
The accuracy of guides on websites vary wildly in my experience. More often than not your best bet is joining the class discord, and reading the pins for your spec.
