Y'all really created a currency transfer system and

…somehow decided that gold, the literal primary currency, should be exempted from it. Are you kidding me? :joy:

ummm, Warband Bank and you can share gold, gear whatever is warbound with all your toons on any server they are on.

Can just go old school and mail it to them.

also, it’s Thursday, you are a few days early for this.

It could have to do with how the back end systems work because gold isn’t bound to your character or account, unlike the other currencies that are part of the transfer system.

Plus there are many ways to share it already between guild banks, the warband bank, or just simple mail.

Just use a mailbox. The currency transfer system also sometimes bugs out and deletes your currency. Do you really want that to happen to your gold?

I am reasonably sure that it has something to do with gold being originally bound to the backpack. Not to mention, the backpack will never be “un-equippable” without having to rewrite the entire thing, it has been hardcoded into the game since vanilla.

I don’t think that would work with characters on different servers.

That’s why we have Warband Banks.

Other than an inconsistent UI, the currency functions exactly the same.
Trust me, you don’t want to push Blizzard into adding Gold to the Currency tab. Transferring it would have a %20 tax.

There are many currencies that are exempt. But, yes … it’s annoying that gold is exempt.

Unless Im missing something, you cant send gold in the mail to characters on non-connected servers.

there is a currency transfer for gold, its your warbank. because gold is not tied to the currency tab.
