Im lvl 80 in Rookery healing lvl 71 and 72. Spamming heals their health barely moves. I start watching the numbers. They have like 1M HP and my heals are hitting them for 29k. Same heal on myself hits for over 100k.
We’re about to wipe on regular trash because 29k heals arent enough.
Now I have a 30min time out for leaving the group which I only did because the healing scaling is badly broken.

I had thought healing was scaled? Like a lower level priest hot, heals for an absurd amount of HP on me lol (lvl 80 mage).
I am unsure if heroics are scaled though, because those are meant for 80s. I am also unsure if heals aren’t scaled if you don’t join through LFG.
This problem has been reported many times by other people - tbh I shouldnt have even made the thread. It’s just kind of absurd the problem is ongoing and it makes the instance unplayable / 100x harder than it would be normally. All of your team is slowly dying on regular trash because your heals hit for nothing. Your team thinks you’re a lazy / bad / dumb healer cuz they are watching everyone slowly die and it looks like you’re not doing your job.
What is blizz even doing these days? Making cars and player housing. ffs

It makes healing the crown chemical terrible as well when people bring lower alts in + nobody takes one of the immunity perfumes/cologne.

It’s not scaling. You’re playing holy paladin. That’s just how the spec works right now. WoG won’t move health bars at 80 either.
I wrote extensively about the issues with healing scaling on the forums when TWW first came out as I leveled many characters to 80.
I was mostly ignored except by some random forum trolls that tried to tell me I was bad for noticing a glaring flaw in how healing scaling works when healing lower levels as a higher level.

Unless they changed it from early TWW you can walk around the main city on characters of different levels and heal random AFK people in town and see healing scaling even there.
The main problem with healing scaling is that there’s harsh reverse scaling so that a higher level will heal a lower level for much less. This doesn’t make sense when leveling 70-80 because you’re not getting many gear upgrades as you level so your healing isn’t getting much stronger, but getting one level will suddenly lower how much you’re healing someone significantly.
At 70 you’re a god, healing higher levels for millions of health per heal. At high 70s you’re barely healing low 70s for much at all.
You can mitigate this slightly buying AH greens to up your ilvl at certain thresholds but it doesn’t make as big of a difference as the level scaling.
I’d also add that how much you notice this leveling depends entirely on the level of players you happen to get into groups with.

In theory yes, in practice however when has anything just worked without breaking?

All they really need to do is remove all negative healing scaling in the 70-80 range entirely. Don’t lower healing numbers in that range when healing a lower level at all, but probably keep some amount of the positive healing scaling when healing a higher level. It’s actually a lot more than it needs to be currently in that direction as well.
Of course I said this at the start of the expansion and they clearly didn’t care since it’s still an issue.

plz feel free to not comment if you dont know what youre talking about. it’s unreal how much bs people talk. this is a known issue in which it makes it impossible to heal when the bug happens.
Uh… I think healing scaling isn’t the problem you’re having.
The first thing you should do is probably get an int-weapon. Going in trying to heal in prot gear is never going to go well, you might as well try healing naked.

i don’t think you understand how jokes work.
I dunno… it might not be WoG, but like @Brakkarion said, you’re using a STR weapon in Holy spec, when you need an INT weapon.
