Oh so you’ve been to the Warhammer Total War forums.
There are many’a’drafts I have written out only to then discard them. Yes, it does happen quite a fair bit.
I’m not afraid to be confrontational with people and argue quite extensively. But some takes or responses I just have to go “Wait, why am I responding to this person - what they said doesn’t dignify a response” which is when I hit “Discard” on a draft.
An example, of when it ain’t worthwhile to respond further was just demonstrated in another thread, so I figured I’d add an edit here to add it (since the user has been quite active in this thread as well):
Some people just want to be a troll and it ain’t worthwhile to engage with them further when this becomes the norm. There’s a few users like this on these forums who behave like Pear. The way that they are behaving makes me wonder if they aren’t just the alt of a rather infamous pandaren troll who keeps talking about ignoring everyone on these forums.
