We lost a super real one today, this one… really hurt.
When you live the life…
For a moment I thought you meant the comedian I grew up listening to and seeing on Hollywood Squares.
Still, that’s a shame and I offer my condolences to his friends, family and his fans.
Didn’t know of the guy until today, but I am still deeply saddened by it.
From the support I’ve seen from my friends and from what I read about him, he seemed like a wholesome person who did a lot for his community. Truly tragic and a horrible way to go.
I just looked him up and read he got shot and thought how horrible can a person be to shoot someone; and then I read on and he was in a gang…
/sigh
This is why you don’t join gangs, you end up getting either shot or stabbed to death. Also police says it appears to be gang-related.
Thug life or die though!!
Such a dumb concept.
Yeah Gang life, so wholesome.
In his past, sure. But from 5 minutes of reading about him I learned that he left the gang life and opened a science community center in 2010 in LA devoted to STEM fields and tried to give his 2 children a good life.
He was killed in his own clothing store.
Nah, they probably also have no idea who he was.
Reppin the crops holmes
It’s crazy that he was killed at his own store…
Maybe it’s a bit ignorant of me to say this but I had honestly never even heard of the guy until today, but I read up on him after I seen an article talking about that he had been shot and killed and Kevin Hart put a post out on Facebook talking about him and how much he looked up to him and what not.
I looked him up and it seems like he was a really good guy who gave a lot back to the community that he came from. It’s a shame things like this happen to people who don’t deserve it.
R.I.P
his past caught up to him someone doesn’t get to claim rollin 60’s crip and throw up a set like that without having some serious dirt in their past so a “really good guy” he definitely was not regardless of how much he tried to make amends for that dirt

[/quote] I did to lol. Geez we are old lol. Nipsey Russell. He used to be on a lot of Dean Martins celebrity roasts back in the 70’s
who
All it takes is a day in the bad crowd to put a target on your back the rest of your life.
Feel bad for the guy, past caught up with him despite his efforts to be better.
A play on the name of somebody with actual talent (Nipsey Russle, for you millennials.)

*nods head and pretends to have any remote inkling of a clue who and what people are talking about…
It’s so sad to see celebrities die so young, especially when they have such a promising career ahead of them. I always think of Aaliyah and Christina Grimmie who we’re both 22 years old with so much going for them. It’s truly tragic to die in such a way also. May he R.I.P.
I was listening to the news this morning and heard he admitted he was part of a gang. It also mentioned he was a very generous and giving person. He liked to share his good fortune.
I’m wondering if those ties to gang life came back to bite him in the end.
