Xylem is Overtuned As All Get out

So let me start by saying I did NOT do Mage Tower in Legion. Never even played the expansion.

But I can tell when an encounter is overtuned to hell and high-water. Xylem hits like a truck. I am a VERY decently geared DPS. Looking at 248 ilvl which is going to be above the average player. And I am not a bad Arms Warrior either. In theory, Xylem seems mechanically doable. Interrupt and Spell Reflect to trigger Second Wind, burn a few Razor Ice to get Victory Rush, dodge mechanics, and do DPS. Cake walk.

Except each Frostbolt hits for over 15% of my health EVERY CAST. Comet Storm kills me faster than I can kill/escape the Ice if I don’t use Heroic Leap. It’s doing about 10% of my health every tick.

Blizz, fix your tuning and stop screwing us over.

As someone who earned all dps and tank mage tower weapons in legion Xylem was always the hardest, but i will agree that he is way over tuned.

We had leggos that helped us survive back then like prydaz. We dont have anything like that anymore. So blizzard really needs to tune this down a little bit to compensate.

Love these threads :joy: no one expected a CHALLENGE…they expected a push over boss. This was the mage tower experience in Legion OP, I know because I struggled early on.

Again, this is not me being like “hUrR dUrR cHaLlEnGe” this is a legitimate case of they took a boss, and overtuned him.

And in reality, it is ONE mechanic that is. And that is his Comet Storm (Which recieved a shadow bow of around 20% last night with no testing)

No, this was not the experience in Legion. You had legendaries, class sets, and artifact weapons then. This is much more difficult than it was then. For that matter, you don’t even have the achievement for completing it, so I don’t know why you’re talking.

Again, this isn’t a challenge issue. MOST of the fight I feel is okay. yeah, Frostbolt hits hard. But I can play with that.

Comet Storm on the other hand hits like the 1000 Pounds Sisters getting sky dropped out of a C17 flying over your house with lead vests on.

Frost bolt values vary based on spec, as havoc it was hitting for about 1.2k on my 6.2k health pool. Absolutely unhealable damage.

Ilvl does not matter in Mage tower as it scales you down you can’t over gear it .

Don’t know why but achievements must be bugged maybe on forums? I got hunters too, warlocks, and feral cat form of course.

That is too simply state that I am not an incompetent warrior - that is all. Cause you KNOW there is folks that would be like “Well you just not gud, git gud kek”

To tell you the truth the encounters are exactly the same, the problem is we lack the tools from the past and we can’t benefit from shadowlands.

I have seen the math from some theory crafters and some of them are not mathematically possible for some classes. So there s definitely tuning issues for some classes.

The mere fact you mentioned your ilvl for a time walking event shows you haven’t done the research to be successful.

This is stupidly bad tuning. Just as much as not having artifacts and legion legos, huge amounts of our abilities don’t function as they use too when legion was live.

Also the way you have to react to abilities doesn’t seem to remember that we use to have a .5gcd for all classes.

I even beat Krul and have the xmog for my pally. But my dk and warrior can barely do 40% of the dmg my pally can.
