oh look another person justifying horrible unintended balance because it has other good roles. Thanks fellow DPS class telling me I should play a non DPS role, despite wanting to DPS
And you thought you’d accomplish this on a Paladin in Wrath because…?
and this is an acceptable debate because…?
Because it is in blizzards own design that every class be able to fill a damage role.
So you did 4 lights. It’s fine, so did I.
Ulduar still has plenty of bosses for actual progression. And XT may still be a tough dps check. Yogg0 is hard. Algalon is hard. My guild wiped 21 times on Iron Council.
You were in the other thread talking about doing it on 10m. You don’t even understand the conversation.
your whining literally doesn’t matter.
I re-rolled to another class to DPS. I want to play ret but it is a hinderance.
but thanks for the anecdotal reply.
And we’ve known since 2008 that Ret is bad in Wrath. You should’ve done your research before making such an elementary mistake.
The boss is getting nerfed. You are the one whining about it.
I stated a fact. And repeated something the Classic team said on this topic.
The Paladin class itself is doing fine. This obsessing with spec over class is a modern mindset, not a Classic one.
Also, you knew exactly what you were getting into.
Also not true. Ret is only bad its its ICC tuning without ICC tier. do your homework
I literally played ret in wrath and have 0 light, grand crusader, and algalon realm firsts.
Ret was better in wrath retail, it was not “kNowN” to be bad.
Damn smoothbrains.
So I can just change my spec and tank or heal as a Rogue? What’s that? I also have to change classes? Oh…
So we’ve known since ICC in 2009.
We knew wrath classic would be on the final tuning patch for all classes. We also have seen through Pservers that ret did not become “good” dps until later in the xpac.
What part about ret not being great in early wrath on the last patch of balance was unknown exactly?
Problem solved.
The content needs to be piss easy to the point that balancing doesn’t matter like it has all of classic thus far, or they need to take an active hand in balancing.
You repeated blizzards response. its a fact that it is their response. That being said, its not disproving my point. Identifying a classes success by its available specs and not its available roles is not an intuitive approach. As classic moves further away from classic vanilla and TBC and closer to real raiding balancing isnt a bad thing. Here we have a post about a not-needed boss balancing change. This change isnt in line with the ideology of classic or your opinion, and by extension blizzards opinion.
If a few guilds kill this early on, and more in a month, then it should be good enough because some have dont it no? Is that not using the exact same approach as the refusal to bring ret into 10% of the top?
Lol look at the comments in here, no wonder we get no communication.
Well, I would agree they shouldn’t have done any balance changes because…well, now they’ve opened Pandora’s Box and look how people are acting. But I don’t agree that every class deserves every spec to excel at every aspect of the game. There’s a version of WoW built like that already…just saying. But that’s not how Wrath worked.
Thats exactly my point. Despite what it might seem based on my comments, im fine with them leaving ret in the horrible place its in, but they shouldn’t touch anything else because then they become hypocrites.
as in my first comment, Leave everything alone or fix it all. This cherry picking changes is BS
