XP OFF PvP & Sync Queue!?

This post is regarding level 49 and under PvP queues.

Okay so about 5 months in to BfA, Blizzard made it to where characters with XP turned off would no longer get a PvP queue to pop. They did this because twinks were DOMINATING their brackets.

However, recently we got something called “SYNC” queue, which allows max level characters to play with their lower level friend(s) — whilst allowing the max level character to have a substantial advantage in said matches…

So… I would appreciate it if two things happened:

  1. Allow XP OFF characters to queue for PvP again
  2. DO NOT allow for massive iLvL gaps in lower level BG brackets. Put an appropriate cap on each bracket.

WOW THAT WAS HARD (it’s 2020…)

Question: Why would anyone want to turn XP off and play lower lvl BG? Is it to DOMINATE and PWN?

Answer: No, it is so the item level hierarchy is frozen – so you don’t have to worry about doing mythic raids to keep up. That is all. PvP arcade… It’s really that simple. I never asked to be a god in any of these brackets. Thank you. Kindly.

I think only free to play who are capped at 20 can queue with xp-on (20-29), and people near lvl 29 have pretty decent base stats in comparison. What’s broken as hell right now is the fact that some f2p got ilvl 49 artifact weapons, azerite armor, ilvl 50 quest items from the end of legion questlines, and a ton of other things that me (and many others) reported DURING the PTR. So right now there’s some unfair stuff at play. Hopefully they nerf those things.

For the most part, xp-off and on are still separate I believe

Because you want to spend your time doing PvP, not continually having to spend many hours to run PvE content to keep up with your opponents.

The problem was always premades. Permitting twinks to solo queue only would have mitigated that issue. But the fact is that those max level players who do party sync are always in a premade, with an anchor toon to put them in the bracket they want to be in. So regular levelers are at an extreme disadvantage.

there is a STILL an exploit where exp-off twinks can get into exp-on bgs. and yea level 50’s having almost double the stats of most people in the bracket is a tad insane.

So the solution seems painstakingly obvious to me.

Put an iLvL cap on each PvP bracket and never allow the iLvL range to exceed 20 points.
e.g. Level 40-49 PvP bracket has an iLvL range of 40-60. Blizz could come in and put an iLvL CAP of 50 for that specific bracket; problem solved, even for premade groups.

This is especially possible now that they have implemented the level squish (& less brackets too).

If they do this, then they could also let XP-OFF characters queue with normies again.

P.S. I still don’t know why Legion went 100% communism with their iLvL restrictions in PvP. In legion, if I recall correctly, every 10 item levels equated to +1% all stats. I always thought it should be at least 2.5% all stats.

They could put a minimum ilvl for entry and scale up those too low and a maximum and scale it down. Sounds like wod, actually.

I think keeping it simple is the best way. No scale ups or iLvL REQUIREMENT.
Simply cap the item level for the appropriate bracket so that iLvL 60’s don’t rickroll iLvL 30-40s.

Being in 2020 (almost 2021 now), I am shocked that they have not shown this any attention or are acting as if it’s a super complex issue.

& yeah George I liked your original post. With what I’m recommending, max lvl players could have fun with their friends without squashing opponents. Premade elitist groups will ALWAYS have an advantage, but it is disgusting to further encourage them.

50s (120s) add statistics in the only place it counts.
Xpoff Twinks took away from “this” before separation, only to be replaced by 120s in premade groups farming levelers.
The faster players are adding to the patented systems in place at end game the better. Anything else is looked at like a loss.

What they really need is another category of PvP designed to work like Korrak’s Revenge with scaling everybody to 60. Everybody could play, twinks, low levels, and max levels together. They could have the original 3 bgs and normal bg rewards (no conquest).
