Hello–my XP keeps getting turned off at level 80 without me doing anything. normally I would not care, BUT I am getting a debuff that is getting applied to my entire group and showing up on my unit frames so I’m tired of looking at this. I’m not giving any more money to that idiot NPC in Stormwind only to have the XP earned turn itself back off. Please help?

Experience can not be turned off, I believe after level 69. But I’m confused, and need clarification.
I’m wondering if you mean retail, War Within?
Level 80 is the new max.
If experience is turning itself off, and you are getting a debuff in Retail, Try resetting your UI I guess. Or put in a bug report.
I’m not explaining this great. I had XP earning on to level to 80 (not on this toon), obviously. Everything was great, until I logged in this afternoon. I spammed dungeons yesterday, no problem. As of today, when I begin a dungeon, I get a debuff that says “Experience Eliminated.” That stays for the ENTIRE dungeon, because it keeps re-upping every 5 minutes. I was confused, didnt think it could be me, but I went to stormwind and found the XP NPC, and was confused when he told me that XP was turned off, and he wanted 10 gold to turn it back on. So, I have this never ending debuff in dungeons all of the sudden. Everything was fine yesterday and the day before etc…

It’s a bug. You can’t gain experience after 80 anyway, so you can ignore it.
Well, this is an issue if you wanted to help friends level or not have to level an alt to play with a friend.
Just started troubleshooting this issue at 11PM today. We thought it was our friend disconnecting from the internet since it happened both times after he dc’d. He left and it continued to happen. I went to Behsten and clicked it 3 times, 2 times before debuff wore off and one time after for total of 30g (10g a go). I was 80, my group of 4 had nobody lower than 73. We thought it was me, so I left the normal instance dungeon, got deserter and then it applied ANOTHER 5 min for the Experience elimiated debuff. Everyone in the party got it same time.
Never even knew about this feature till now. Hope this helps someone, no fix that i know of and nothing in other forums.

It’s not about ignoring it–my UI shows debuffs, and thinks its a debuff. So the entire dungeon (I am a healer) I am staring at my party frames, and seeing this big stupid “XP” box on my frames… on every single party members raid frame. It’s applying to the entire party. If I were in a raid, it would probably apply to the entire raid as well. So, I’m seeing this on every single player frame.
I am the OP of this thread, posting on the toon who is actually experiencing this problem fwiw.
The best you can do is report it in Bug Report
This forum is only other players assisting players.
Is it actually applying the debuff, or is it just a visual annoyance? Are the other party members receiving exp as normal?

Just want to bump this because all of a sudden I’m seeing this from someone in all my dungeons.
The people i would que with would also have this. Not randoms qued into us.
Thanks guys. Yeah I kinda just wanted to make sure it was actually affecting exp and not just some weird visual thing. Though the fact they got a slight amount is weird!
If you haven’t, make a proper bug report in the Bug Forum or in game, Technical Support really isn’t for bugs.
Same thing happened to me but I have fixed it!
Since yesterday, my experience was stuck in the turned-off state, even though i NEVER turned it off. I would give every group i joined the debuff of “experience gains eliminated”. I went to the Stormwind to try and turn it back on multiple times, but it did not work.
I scanned and repaired my game, and this fixed the bug as of now. Hoping it stays away!
