Hello,
I have taken a break from retail WoW for a moment, but mostly because of one thing: the xp boosts. You know, the bonus u get for each lvl 80 you have? Is there still not a way to turn that off? I am not talking about stopping xp altogether (I know you can freeze your level), but just turning off the xp boosts. If you are able to, I’d come back to the game.

I HEAR YOU BRO. I QUIT BECAUSE I WANT PRICES TO BE 25% MORE EXPENSIVE BUT BLIZZARD WON’T GIVE ME THE OPTION TO DO THAT. I’M HOLDING MY BREATH UNTIL THEY MAKE THIS CHANGE. WISH ME LUCK.

Apparently you use to be able to right click to remove or /cancelaura the boost but they removed that option a month or 2 ago-ish, however long ago, but it was kinda recent.
oh interesting! Would be neat if it was that simple to remove it.
Yeah there was a time you could just click it off but I think it would refresh at some point anyway. I don’t get why you’d want slowed leveling but I do think people should have the option anyway, same way people could turn off the xp buff in Classic.
I’m quitting too until they invest more time and money into in-store mounts. just one $90 mount this season so far? They be slackin.

Yes. I am an avid roleplayer and I just find the slower journey to be fun. I take my time in zones, and I play casually. For me, leveling is very fun to pick my talents, get new abilities, and come up with new character ideas. Retail is already fast, but I still love the game. I just would like an option to go slower, when these boosts make a fast experience even faster.

There is no way to disable the boost. Only the XP. But you are only the second person to ask for this, like, ever. Unless youa re the same person that asked last time about 2 weeks ago. Most players seem to enjoy the idea of boosting alts while the XP exists and I imagine the boost will be removed going into Midnight, or only apply to Khaz Algar leveling like the flight boost in DF.

I hope you’re right that the boost will be removed into Midnight or I’m at least hoping for a simple toggle. It’s a shame you cannot cancel xp beyond 70. I would cancel at 79 if I could.

You can lock the XP in SW / Org, but would have to turn it back on to progress.
