Xolartios and the Eternal Travelers

(Statement): The NPC, Xolartios, and the order of the Eternal Travelers, are referenced in the Shadowlands Pre-Order transmog questline. They are an order which travels the, “myriad realms of reality.”

(Query): Unit Exacitor would enjoy gathering data on the perspectives of the Story Forum posters regarding this new, previously unheard of Order. Might they tie into an actual faction we encounter later, complete with color swaps of the Vestments? Or are they just a one-off mention solely to give the coming expansion a reason to make players grind for their pre-purchase bonuses?

My guess is that they will have a token appearance, if any at all.

There’s a reason we’ve never seen a Venthir or a Kyrian before. Travelling back and forth between the Shadowlands and the living world is not something that’s supposed to happen. We only do it because the Lich King twisted the rules and Sylvanas uses that to break them. The natural order has been shattered and it’s all falling apart.

Introducing a bunch of “travelers” who have always been able to pop back and forth kinda ruins the whole thing.

(Query): Aren’t the Spirit Healers also considered part of the Kyrians?

Yeah, honestly probably this. I would imagine they’ll have their own little easter egg hovel in the same vein as the Lun’alai in Zuldazar or the Prepfoot in Highmountain.

(Answer): The Spirit Healers are val’kyr who chose not to join Helya in Helheim after the sealing of the Halls of Valor and instead disappeared into the Shadowlands The few of these val’kyr who still had nobility in their souls dedicated themselves to watching over the physical world, and from within the Shadowlands, they would occasionally guide the dead back to the realm of the living. They seem to be based off Kyrians.

The kyrian are noble beings who shepherd mortal souls to Oribos when they enter the Shadowlands

They’re called ‘‘forebears’’ of the Val’kyr and Spirit Healers. However they seem to be only limited to transporting souls to Oribos when they die.

Val’kyr are creations of Odyn, the Prime Designate, with the very first one being Helya. They’re the ones who grab the souls of dead warriors (mainly but not limited to Vrykul) and bring them to the Halls of Valor. She then rebelled against Odyn and created Hellheim and had her own Val’kyr after sealing Skyhold.

The Spirit Healers are Val’kyr who didn’t ally with neither Odyn nor Helya and decided to disappear into the Shadowlands they are described as ‘‘still having nobility within their souls’’, they decide to help adventurers by guiding them back to the realm of the living.
