I’m getting ready for the lull in SL, and one of the Legacy things I’m planning on is getting both of Illidan’s glaives on my DH.
What are the two glaives, and in what content do they (however rarely) drop?

You could just google this question…
They drop in Black temple - BC expansion
You also need to kill Illidan on a Black Temple Timewalking run with your Demon Hunter AFTER having obtained both glaives in whatever character.
Step 1: obtain both of the original warglaives from Illidan in Black Temple on any character that can equip them (rogue, warrior, dk, monk, dh.)
Step 2: Kill Illidan in Timewalking Black Temple.
Be warned - step 1 can take an obscene amount of time. They took my rogue over 6 years to get. (And my Demon Hunter got them in 3 weeks when defeating Illidan on a Demon Hunter was still required.) If you don’t care which character has the original warglaives, I’d suggest running BT weekly on every rogue, warrior, monk, death knight, and demon hunter that you can.
Very, very important!
If they drop on your shaman, or just a character that can not equip them, you’re going to be out of luck.
I have one on my Warlock. My mage has the bow too.
It was exciting to see, but super upsetting because I wasn’t on the right character both times.
They took me about 2 mo to get; the last night before reset of the raid, I didn’t get my second one, was so sad; next day, I literally got the one I needed…too bad the reset just happened, and I had to wait six more mo for the next bt tw raid XD. Was totally worth it though; I still rock them to this day, as you can see.
There are 2 kinds of demon hunters: those who rock out the Warglaives of Azzinoth, and those who are wrong.
You are hands down the most bitter and angry DH on the forums. Why did you even reply? He came in here for a simple question, don’t reply if you are gonna be snarky.
I answered his question, and also reminded him there’s an enormous search engine available.
What have you done here?
I just got my main hand glaive. Unfortunately the achievement of doing BT doesn’t apply retroactively as I haven’t done the time walking version since Legion. And it doesn’t look like time walking is available until October.
Oh, definitely not. The mage tower appearance is definitely superior to them, in my opinion. The Warglaives of Azzinoth are over a decade out of date when it comes to poly count and particle effects.
They’re an acceptable alternative.
Sadly, I wasn’t able to get the mage tower skin because of real life stuff that was going on at the time and I didn’t even have time to log in for a 2 hour raid every week, much less devote time to the mage tower. (One of the reasons I keep hoping they’ll bring back the mage tower…)
I like my 2.4k+ 3’s legion green weapon glow enchantment. Can’t apply it to legion artifacts and it just looks a lot better on swords than it would those warglaives
Guess I’m wrong, except for the rare moments I rock the real deals during BC timewalks, with actual good ole enchants.
Any legion artifact appearance is still superior, aside from those oversized horns are hard to get used too. Heck, even class daddy tossed his aside for the mage tower ones, which Im also not a huge fan of.
You take that heresy elsewhere, good sir.
Any of your DH, Rogue, Warrior, DK, monk can get those, so if you have alts, run these every week. The sword/offhand MUST be equipped by one character to get the achievement, then as another poster responded, get the achievement by killing Illidan in TW BT. After then you can mog the warglaives on your DH.
PS The warglaives in BT are not technically warglaives, these are sword/offhand hence the misconception that only DH can run / equip these for the achievement.
