Since, i just saw a topic about Racism on game refering to races and other things, lets also give some feedback on Xenophobia.
Ragnaros player here, we contantly face issues, auto block addons, people that type “not ragnaros” and negative comments or whispers. So, why don’t create a check box that will mark that you’ll only look for people on US servers, latin america, Oceanic or Brazil instead of allowing addons and putting people on the position to specify that they don’t want a specific server, some people wont mark that exclusion check box and allow more options but others will feel free to check only for people with a good communication on the expected language and better connection maybe.
Latin players face some issues too and the community is toxic inside latin players and also from outside in other regions.
Another thing that could be address by Devs in order to improve some social issues on the community.
Grouped with a player from Frostmourne. Got 1000 ms additional ping. At that point, we’re not even talking about ms, that’s just a straight up second delay. It feels like wading through mud. It’s just not fun.
It isn’t racism, it isn’t xenophobia, it is not of this virtue-signaling %%%%%ing nonsense - I want to have fun when I play the game. Okay? My fun is more important than pandering to your conception of political correctness.
Some people refers to latin players as Mexican, they don’t know about the whole bunch of countries south of US.
Some comments are really toxic and Xenophobic and Latin players will also benefit if we know that the groups listed are people that will tolerate our broken english or any risk, also M+ Keystone concept is something that i hope is removed if you lose connection or something happened, you lost your key, time and you must upgrade it again for example.
And i know that maybe US face less issues but here we’ve worst connection and some rainy day or a electrical storm…etc could trigger a power issue and then our image is impacted, i try to do keys with friend and not as a pug for the same but i’m posting this thread to bring some issues that some other player base face.
i’ll prefer something that you pick m+ level without a key.
This is the only issue that I have found. As a guide, I would like to help everyone, but it is difficult to help those who speak another language because I have to tab out of the game and pull up google translate and then type in what is being said. I do it, but it would be so nice if there was a translator in the game.

I think what Rosenivy said, an in-game translator would be great. If I’m being perfectly honest, I’ve had a stigma against Ragnaros in the past due to the toxic behavior I’ve repeatedly witnessed and experienced from players on that server. But I’ll try to be better.

My only problem with Latin American servers is dealing with connection issues. If the leader is from a LA server I sit at 500ms. This makes getting out of any mechanics, interrupting or even just being able to do my rotation correctly a pain in the rear if not outright impossible.
Outside of that I haven’t had any issues and I’ve used google to help have some decent conversations. Well at least I think they were decent as I’ve found google sucks at translating.
Ragnaros players are really toxic even with their own community, i know because we’ve our own facebook groups and other social media and it’s really bad.
that’s why i would like to hear from devs on social issues and their solutions because right now those are left to player decision, when someone reject me on LFG it’s Ok, maybe he doesn’t want a lock or any other factor, but when you saw a lot of LFG groups with No ragnaros, no oceanic, no brazil…etc why they don’t address it with a solution using the region as filter.
There are some chat addons that allow you to copy and paste from and into chat. It makes translating easier but google has some serious issues.
If I remember right google translates the word google into whatever the Spanish word for glasses is… Hmm trying it now it looks like they at least fixed that issue.
Actually i’m part of that chat and i don’t know why they didn’t split the chat by region but i try to help with my few english and also check if someone ask something on spanish, a few times some trolls using korean as a joke, it’s really weird this new chat and i don’t see any update on this mentor system since it was implemented.
I know that this isn’t a solution to your problem and I’m not trying to gaslight the real issues, but have you genuinely considered leaving the server?
I’ve an investment of too many alts for gold farming, mount farming so if i want to change server , I’ve to invest like 500$ on character transfers, actually a lot of latin players are doing that or creating alts on Illidan and other servers so they can avoid these kind of issues and the bad rep of latin servers. thanks for your input.
As i already mentioned is a combination of bad rep, toxicity from both sides, language and some connection issues and some players are really bad. I’m aware of why some people avoid Ragnaros people, but also i’ve seen some post on twitter and other media when someone is like “I just did a m+ 15-18 with a Ragnaros player and he was good”…etc and i know that maybe a solution filtering by region will show few groups for a specific region that’s why i expect some input from devs that should know better how to handle that. if they handle /spit as an harrassment issue.
