I don’t remember reading anything about him dislikable…but to be fair I do live under a bridge.
He is extremely aggressive/insulting/threatening to anyone with differing political or religious views. Not meaning attacking back, I mean he seems to go out of his way to find people to be nasty to.

I wish I was unaware. I was a big fan of him as an actor back in the day, but… now? Normally I try to (with varying levels of success) ignore the artist in favor of the art… but he makes even that impossible.

To summarize: He’s an ultra right-wing Evangelical conspiracy theorist who believes COVID was a lie, refuses to wear masks in Starbucks, is an anti-vaxxer, is a racist who calls black protesters “animals,” expresses bigotry in all directions (racism, homophobia, ridiculing pronouns, etc.) on Twitter, and has refused to work with non-Christian directors and producers, which is pretty much all of them.

Politics aside - and I disagree with Sorbo on pretty much everything - I always felt any actor playing Herc should LOOK strong. Ever see any of Steve Reeves Herc flicks? Sorbo never had much in the way of muscle.
It’s American 90’s try-hard TV and I don’t like that stuff.
Buffy was the same, only show that was half way decent back then was Stargate.

It’s a relative term. I’m -10.00, -10.00 on the political compass. Sorbo is right of Reagan, so probably somewhere around the +8.5 range on both axis.

I mean, all humans are animals. He called them “animals” with the obvious intent of dehumanizing them. You can argue about it being racist or not, but at the very least, it’s unabashed classism coming from a wealthy celebrity.
I’m definitely a hardcore leftist, but I haven’t found a cult anywhere near my position. There’s a Liberal cult and a Conservative cult, but they’re center-right to right-wing.
I’m an Anarcho-Sydicalist - all the way left on both scales. We’re left of Noam Chomsky. There aren’t very many of us. Certainly not enough to form a cult.
And even if we did form a cult, it wouldn’t take, because we view all authority as illegitimate. That includes cult leaders.

Covid vax 100% effective.
1 month later it’s only 80% effective.
2 months later it’s only 60% effective.
3 months later it turns out it’s not even 30% effective.
Turns out vaccines did zero to help prevent the spread of Covid. All it really did is it exposed the governments who’s intentions were to destroy the economy and not actually help people.
