Wow, that does sound eerily like the ring, to bring the human kings under heel. Or at least she attempted that?
I can’t believe a dagger would stab us in the back.
She manipulated Modgud in Grim Batol and orchestrated the rise of the Aqir Empire until the Zandalari defeated them thus her being Drenden the whole time rather than just during the introductory of War Within is a distinct possibility.
She also mentions being in the possession of the Naga for a long time. Who knows what Highborne Night Elves have been puppets of hers. For all we know Azshara herself is a pawn!
After all Xal’atath gloats about how the World Soul so long denied her will be hers while the Naga’s A Song of the Depths says her securing the Dark Heart will lead to her fulfilling the Prophecy and that the Naga’s Queen will return to rule sky, land and sea!
Xal’atath seems to outright possess the Cultists from Stormsong Valley what with them mentioning “I sleep… only to wake…” and “Her might surges through my veins!” and “You will kneel before your queen, peasant!”
That last one and A Song of the Depths suggests she was outright possessing Azshara rather than manipulating her and thus when controlling that agent of Lord Stormsong couldn’t resist saying that line.
I mean, I was stuck with her whispering in my ear the entire expansion. She never came off as a master manipulator or as anything other than banal or generic. Generic snarky clap backs and bad guy monologuing in almost every situation. Never will understand the obsession with characters like this.
I hope the story ends up alright. I have very serious reservations about that given Blizzards actual track record with storytelling and not listening to the hopium my brain wants to give into.
I have exactly 0 hype more hyped for my crops to grow in my time at sandrock tbh
Such a tiny little mind you have. As if the forums are the only available sample of the wow community.
Yes, nobody.
Think it’s fairly reasonable to infer that the overwhelming majority of the playerbase did not much care for the “story” told in shadowlands. Certainly not where the Jailer and Sylvanas were concerned.
Denathrius was pretty coo though
Ok then, what else can we see of the WoW community other than the forums and the people we see in game. And please don’t say reddit, that’s a forum.
I think it’s pretty much split. You can always assume that the vast majority expressing an opinion in forums is the negative voice. People who like something don’t say so over and over and over again with passion like the negatives do.
People talk about all the subs that left but many more stayed and the few that do speak in favor of SL get just as many likes as we do arguments when we have these debates.
Also when I’m leveling alts I still see lots of people in Shadowlands. Even some 70s.
To be clear, you’re genuinely arguing that 50% of the playerbase enjoys Shadowlands? Specifically, the story-telling of the expansion as a whole.
I have no idea and neither do you. One thing I know for sure, most of the hate is coming from a rather small group. If there were millions on these forums hating on Shadowlands each of our voices would be lost in an ocean of comments from different players.
You have poor comprehension skills. When players debate SL, nobody is praising “the story” of SL. The more you post, the more you display your ignorance.
she even stole my shoes.
Denathrius and Rivendreth were the only things good about SL. Whole zone was atmospheric and had fun quests. The cast of characters was memorable.
“I could grate carrots on your ribs!”
Sadly, it was stuck in the 2nd worst xpac ever. DF being the worst due to no redeeming qualities in writing or lore. Total snorefest with it’s scolding tone and ditchwater dull twists you see coming the moment they’re set up.
Didn’t think blizz had the cajones to double dip into this well. Wasn;t this the whole jailor schtick?
That is a well known aspect of online forums. Ever wonder why polling agencies like Harris and Gallup never gather data from internet forums?
Far more people come to forums to complain than to praise something and those who do come to complain form an echo chamber telling each other over and over what they all want to hear.
People who are happy with a game just play the game and go to the forums, if they do at all, to ask questions or provide help.
And I notice you had to fall back on the fallacy of ad hominem. If you can’t attack the message, attack the messenger. It has been a well known logical fallacy for over two thousand years.
Who’s been messing up everything?
It’s been Xal’atath all along!
Who’s been pulling every evil string?
It’s been Xal’atath all along!
Isn’t that what basically happened when we killed the jailor?
