This feels like defletion from the devs. The mechanics are in place because I can send items with the BoA attribute tag to my alt on a different realm. If they can send it with the BoA tag, they can send it without the BoA tag.
More likely they simply do not want to allow free-for-all mailing of non-soulbound items and that’s the real reason they don’t allow it, but in-fact they already have transfers for person-to-person transfers. As someone stated if you have trusted friends across realms or simply have 2 accounts you can run simultaneously, then you can work around this. For everyone else, allowing mail cross-realm would even the playing field.
Fair enough point, although as noted, those with 2 accounts can (and likely will) take advantage of arbitrage situations for large profit. To avoid that nonsense, the devs should just make the AH region-wide for everything that can be posted as well as allow cross-realm mailing.
Yep! Eventually they may work on it. Just depends on how much has to go into it. We’ve already seen how messed up cross realm trading went. When they say that mail is more complicated, that could mean even worse consequences for all we know.
Probably something they’ll do in the future. They make these big systemic changes and they have a lot of potential to break stuff, so they do it bit by bit.
I would love to have cross server mailing, but after seeing the mess that was cross server trading…I have my doubts that they could do it properly and with very little mess.
