Believe me, it’s too much for me too - I’m on a disability pension but since tomorrow is my birthday I thought the extra 2 months sub could be my birthday present to myself.
Every year for the last 8 years I’ve thought “Maybe I’ll get the world’s best birthday present and finally get this mount” and for 7 of those years I’ve been disappointed. It’s about to be 8. Oh god, I was in my mid 20s when I started farming this mount and now I’m in my mid 30s.
I really don’t understand why we can’t have bad-luck protection for the Love Rocket like we do for the Legendary items etc. Each time you loot the Heart-shaped Box you get a token that increases the drop chance of the mount by like 0.5% - it could even only apply to the “first try” drop chance. So that way, after like 3 years you’re looking at a ~15% chance per box on your first try. That’s not unreasonable, and it ensures that those who actually go out of their way to farm it are actually rewarded rather than just the people who do a couple of runs each week on 1 alt and get it without even knowing it exists.

They should have put the rocket onto the vendor and have the price set so that it takes a couple of years to save up enough tokens to get it (obviously they would need to persist through the year then instead of vanishing).
I’ve been at it since it first came into the game… I’m tired, boss

My friend with less than 3 toons got it on the first day. FIRST DAY! While I had been farming this since he was a toddler, with an army of alts in 2 accounts.

I thought so that fact of not having to do that place again when I got mine 2 yrs ago but here I am doing that place along with a few alts to get the tokens to buy the new stuff …pet…toy…new ray mount and new boat…need a total of 620 charm tokens to buy those items…and since we can’t farm them this year cause they took that away from us…means doing dailies and dungeon to get enough.
Can’t save those charms anymore …use to be able to years ago but they changed it …even if you throw them in your own bank they will disappear as soon as the event is over with…they did that with many of those things you have to collect to buy stuff in many events now.

I just wanted to drop by this thread and leave a suggestion:
Put the mount on the love token vendor.
I mean, there’s already a mount you can buy from it so why not add this one?

You can, technically, hoard your tokens. I had three characters I hadn’t logged into since the last Love is the Air holiday (literally had not touched them a single time), and they still had all their tokens from last year. Apparently, because I never logged into them at point during the year, the game never realized it wasn’t the holiday for them.
I mean it’s comically technical and would only happen to people who use alt armies to farm the holiday, but it technically works.
This happened to me too, since most of my alts haven’t been touched since last year’s Love event.
Also, 0/3 first tries today and 0/27 Normal tries. I did get the Manuscript on my 2nd attempt of the day on my main account, but I’m probably going to delete it as a sacrifice for the Love Rocket Gods.

What I really dislike about this event isn’t the abysmal drop rate but the dungeon per hour limit. That one really annoys me a great deal.
I should note that I have zero issues with low drop rate, it’s a mmo and that’s how they “should” be but of course if you do this on many alts every year then that’s clearly a design problem.
Like someone posted above me, it’s just a +1 mount and you’re probably never going to use it anyway. At this point you’re not playing the game it’s playing you.
EDIT: I can not believe it on the 6th attempt today I finally got the mount.

I definitely WILL use it. I’m not farming it for a +1, I’m farming it because it’s my 3rd or 4th favourite mount in the whole game and I have a Gnome whose entire transmog/RP is built around it xD
Also it’s so painful seeing people go “Oh, got it first try of the event” on like the 5th day. So they haven’t even been doing it, and then boom oh I got what you’ve been farming for 8 years without even trying.
Oh, and people who ride into Crown Chemical Co. on their Love Rocket. There’s literally zero reason to do that except to gloat.
EDIT: No luck on birthday attempts 
But if I magically got it tomorrow, the achievement would have the correct date because it uses American dates. Soooo there’s still a chance for Birthday Rocket, technically.

After years of not getting and the buff, I… still haven’t gotten it.
Was hoping to get it before SoD phase 2 started because I do not want to waste my time logging into retail and doing this stupid dungeon 12 times a day when I’m trying to level to 40.
Buff should be for every attempt not just first of the day so I could finally end this awful grind after probably hundreds or thousands of runs of that dungeon.

Day 3 I’m 0/39 months ugh so frustrating
0/3 on first try accounts - so far 13/27 with nothing. Looks like no birthday mount this year either…
Sigh. I know it’s not happening this year now, but I can’t stop myself from doing every single alt on that nonexistent chance. Honestly I wish they’d just make it unobtainable so I don’t spend half of February absolutely miserable.
I don’t play with alts.
Got the mount yesterday.
Won’t use it unless.i have my current degenerate mog on
