I love moonguard, what it was, what it meant to me, what it did. with these changes about a hour ago I feel like ive been shifted to wyrmrest… its just… idk… im sure itll grow on me like a tumor… like everything daddy blizz adds… but deep down ill miss the quiet and server it used to be.
just a bit of venting… seeing how other people stand on the changes
I rebelled against your insanity when I was younger and not a demon hunter, I fled back then but I can make sure you stay in your grave. Or maybe just don’t arrest a innocent elf.
Sadly, I transferred my main off MG Horde cause I couldn’t take standing around Org at prime hours and only seeing 4ish people. MG Horde is in such a sad state and will never recover.
I hope they keep this change and I was a MG player since Wrath, so it wasn’t easy to just up and leave.
It’s attitudes like this that make it even more difficult for the Horde population to build itself. Perhaps a more positive approach would be “it wasn’t for me, but hope to see change one day.”
You don’t have have to be the bringer of change, but using presumptuous words like ‘never’ is detrimental to others that still have hope, and are doing their best to encourage others to foster and grow the MG Horde population.
As to the merging, yes I suspect it’s a temporarily issue. It’s happened to me before and I didn’t really enjoy it. Some people like to RP in big crowds; others like a quieter atmopshere where they can actually have a conversation. Whatever your choice, live and let live.
Sadly that can’t be applied to me as I have been a figure of the MG Horde community for PvP and RP-PvP since Wrath.
I think people like Kerdic have done probably the most for the Horde since MoP with his guild, sadly it’s just him and his guild on Horde most of the time. People like Try and Onxy have also done a lot these past few expansions for the Horde. So they are people you can look to for hope. Heck, even Flywheel as done a ton in terms of community projects, but outside those three guilds, there is maybe a very very small handful who RP here and there in Org?
Not saying you need to jump ship, but for me who has been here for so long it has become a ghost town of all the former Horde players.
It is what it is and I still stand by what I say, hope they keep this merge. It would be good for MG Horde.
First of all, “daddy blizz” in the OP. Nothing to add on that, just wanted to notice that was a thing for some reason.
I ran through Orgrimmar twice when the patch dropped because I was curious how people were responding to the recent update to the story. First time I ran through was during the odd merging, and my first instinct was to think that this patch sure brought people out of the woodwork to respond to the story, that’s amazing. Then I realized there was a bit of a merge going on with WRA and even though I did not know a single person in the crowd, I still felt that pleasure of seeing an active Horde.
The second time I ran through Orgrimmar was without phasing. It was quiet again, there was RP going on but it was the same people you learn to expect in the taverns. Which is sometimes the real merit of Moon Guard Horde. Sometimes that quiet is what creates a tight-knit community where everyone knows each other. But sometimes it feels a bit monotonous and sometimes it’s a bit too quiet.
Maybe I felt some kind of excitement at the idea of novelty or whatever but honestly, I was happy to see an active Horde before I realized it was actually Wyrmrest. And that’s what matters to me, really. I felt like I could actually do some walk-up RP with this crowd, compared to the times I’ve stood there on the porch to little avail. If this merge was actually a thing? It’d take some getting used to, but maybe it wouldn’t be that bad. Maybe I would be okay with the greater presence and more opportunity to RP. The city’s a big place, and if I need somewhere quieter to go, there’s always somewhere out of the way.
