Heya folks,
So I made a wyrmhole Generator toy. Eventually I got 30 points into Novelties. However, whenever I use the wyrmhole, its still random where I can go? Why arent I able to pick where I port to? Thanks for any input!

Pandaria, Argus, Kul Tiras, and Zandalar wormhole were random.
I’m sad to hear it is random. I never used any other one than the shadowlands one, and figured it would work the same. I just worked on my engineer character today and I almost have the mats to make mine. At least I know what to expect now, it might still be fun.
From what it says under the Novelties specialization and from the comments on WoWhead, if you max it out at 30 points, you can choose where to go with the Wyrmhole.

Interesting, that’s good to know. Have you logged out and in again since adding the points? I wonder if that would trigger it. I would definitely submit a but report if it’s not working, though.
Wanted to comment that I just maxed out novelties spec 30 minutes ago, opened my wormhole, and only had the random location option too. 
I like the toys in the novelty spec, but feel really disappointed this capstone functionality isn’t working.

It’s not very clear on the description but you actually have to find the transmitters in each zone to activate the choices. The wyrmhole generator page on wowhead has a list of where they are.

So I went back to Wowhead and looked up Wyrmhole Generator and the first comment under it lists all 3x locations for each of the 4x zones. If you go visit all 3x locations in each zone, you will see a gold spherical object you click on. When you click it, it transforms a bit and shoots a beam up showing that you’re now “attuned” to that wyrmhole location.
Once you’ve done this for all of them, when you click your wyrmhole generator next, you can pick the zone you want to goto. You CANT pick which of the 3x areas in the zone you may appear but you will appear at ONE of those 3x areas in the zone you picked.
In order to goto a specific zone, you MUST unlock all 3 potential portal areas.
So there it is…
