Can somebody explain why sims rate Haste as my highest weighted stat but guides list it as WW worst stat?
If the sims are accurate and to be trusted as actual simulations why is Haste not listed higher on guides for WW?
And if the guides are right why is the sim so ****ing wrong that Haste is far above anything other than AGI when simming in raidbots?
Cause something is wrong with one of these tools (guides/sims) when they are pretty much recommending opposite things.
Note: This is when simming with no raid buffs/self buffs.
Edit: Even with “optimal raid buffs” haste sims as the best stat.
I’d like to know too. SIMs rate crit as my best stat.
When you simulate your profile it’ll run the same setup x amount of times (iterations) across varying lengths of time, I think 20% variance is preset, and what it will do is cause the combat length artificially vary linearly across the iterations. At 20% it’ll mean that your simulated length on a 300 second preset is actually going to be 240 - 360 seconds long.
So what starts to happen as Simcraft starts to check for the average gain in damage per point based on the delta it’ll start to find these tiny little breakpoints where a marginal amount of haste amounted to an additional cast of WDP, FoF, or RSK based on the combat length and it’ll find it enough times to the point that the increase in damage will appear to be related to haste rather than combat time.
Serenity at one point was notorious for this because SimC will push you towards haste the moment you came remotely close to getting an additional RSK in but due to latency for many people this was never really achievable.
The APL in general is very rigid and follows the same actions , to the instruction , over and over and over. For a player, even a minor variation in your rotation, will start to cause you to drift further and further away from what SimC is telling you was shown as ideal for your profile. I haven’t done APL adjustments since Legion but even then you guys as players should have been able to beat the simulation damage considerably. SimC is best used as a reference, a quick calculator, a tool to help you with judgement calls in a more visual way. If you want to see the full picture with haste then run a stat plot between Haste & Versatility. It’ll show you the comparison between the two stats at whatever delta you set.
