Seems like it from how it works ATM on alpha.
I think that even if someone doesn’t like JJE, we can objectively say that the new talent is more interesting than a 10% crit increase on Judgement.
Since the tooltip doesn’t tell the whole story as Araghon pointed out, it’s hard to tell what’s the tipping point where DS is more valuable.
We can safely assume that it will be generally stronger than DS up to at least 4, could be 5 depending on the % of FV damage it does to additional targets.
At 50% with Blade of Light it’s a DPS increase on 4 targets and DS takes back the lead on 5.
If that’s so, it could be a 100% effect and I don’t even think it would be OP, that would just be a funnel mechanism where you alternate them.
Whether that’d be fun or not remains to be tested and seen.
As for VoJ, people either love it or hate it.
Seems like the people most vocal on it are of the later opinion.
I personally don’t like to play with it so I’m not sad to see it go.
I also just realized I read the tooltip wrong, VoJ increase the damage of your next DS on the target hit by FV only.
Doesn’t change my mind on it being a way to provide a form of priority damage, just worst than I thought while also increasing the value of it’s relationship with JJE.
The only thing we can hope now is that this idea they have pans out and its tuned correctly for Templar* compared to picking the DoT talents for an AoE/cleave situation.
*I don’t think those talent, as they are, will be considered for Herald
