The nerf to Strike of the Windlord and 3% overall DMG nerf hit us too hard. If they want us to go into a more sustained damage oriented playstyle we need increases to our defensive toolkit. We are either glass cannons that have to run away until burst time or need some more damage mitigation so that we can stay in and do damage like the other classes. What do yall WW pvpers think?
They’ve made serenity 110% absolutely mandatory just to compensate for the loss.
The design since beta seemed indecisive. You want us to burst but also want us to be spamming bok every other ability in order to reset rsk. And now the burst is being taken away while they move us towards sustain while not addressing survivability.
To sustain, you have to facetank a little and WW does not have the defensives for that. And if they want us to facetank more and rely on sustain, the fof stun has to return. Aren’t we the only melee without a second stun?
WW has limited ability to stand in the fray. Leather gets shredded terribly hard. We need something like Fortified Brew stance/form that can be toggle on and off. Or something like the 30 second long unkillable demon form like DH.
WW can not continue down the “sustained” damage road when it can not “sustain” melee range for more than a blink of an eye.
Make fortifying brew a “state” that can be toggled on and off. Damage output reduced while in that “state”.
Warriors have “stances”
Druids have “forms”
Why not an infused “state” from drinking fortified brew for a boon to monk defense. On demand anytime.
I dunno something has to give, WW gets shredded.
I’m officially done Pvping on my BM hunter and Monk, gotta figure out something to play now ![]()
i know this is going to sound odd but im doing okay on my WW, not amazing but not terrible.
but if you want to follow some of the over tuned classes there’s a few options atm
My statement to Blizzard, on the state of WW is this:
I think it’s perfectly fine to smooth out our damage, and reduce burst.
Now do rogues and DHs.
The problem with the mismanagement of this game is, somebody gets a bug up their skirt and targets certain classes, leaving obvious ridiculous burst still available on many other classes.
I love my monk and tired of it being nerfed into the ground, with crap defensives and an underwhelming self-heal.
I was so excited to finally play MW after the strong beta showing. I’ve had a blast with it, but while I’m playing my heart out, putting up solid numbers in all formats, it’s the least consistent of all healer classes. If given the choice, people are going to take a druid over you every time, in every format. They are easier to play, more consistent, more mobile (soothing mist needs redesigned), tanker, have a battle rez. The devs need to decide HOW they want MW to play. It’s currently an unfocused mess of talents and intentions, all of which add up to a poor arena and mythic performer when compared to most other classes for the majority of players. Reminds me of early day druids.
I mean, they could just give us back all our talents they took and gave to other classes…
So am I. I am currently 2144 CR qing at 2200+ MMR but it is just a super uphill battle into what is currently meta. As it stands there is no reason to bring a WW into any comp. WW is just not able to compete at the highest level right now with what other melee bring to the table.
I’m still surprised Healing Elixir didn’t make it on the main monk tree. Or Nimble Brew.
As for my personal experiences since the nerf. Yea, basically what’s been said. I can barely survive in prolonged melee against crap like fury and DH, the latter of which has become a DoT class if meters are reporting things correctly. I don’t think I’ve really bursted someone out post-nerf. More often than not it’s whittling them down and then mashing ToD when they’re at 10% because it won’t register health properly.
It’s the build. Immolation aura, dot from blade dance, and throw glaive dot.
It’s still crazy DH get like 40 seconds oh basically being unkillable bc of their leech. While also being able to do more burst and sustain then monks.
I think most of the players agree. If you want to take away the 2 second deaths because it’s bad for the state of the game… cool…
Fix the demigod classes at the same time. I would add Unholy, warlocks, SP and Warriors to your list btw.
It’s 4 melee, 2 casters and 2 healers playing at the top and the rest of us semi-competitive here and there depending on PvP format.
After the nurfs monks burst with CDs is very high but not the most broken class in the game by far. Get the dominant classes down here with us!
Sure, but all of those specs have way more passive survivability than us. Our main problem post nerf is that we are expected to play a sustained playstyle with a toolkit that is tailored towards hit and run one shots. We need something to give us passive survivability or maybe more CC like a fist of fury stun so we can stay in/setup more often.
