I agree.
For balancing reasons in S1, any WW “nerfs” will probably be centered around the burst window (i.e. the two augments above). Hopefully they make incremental +% buffs with each tier, since the scaling is so …
I don’t think they will nerf either of those. Why? Because they are the only things making Windwalker competitive in PVE again. I don’t care about pvp, pvp hasn’t been balance for years dating back to BC and it never will be properly balanced the way things have been going. WW monks are in a good spot in raiding and mythics+ so I expect it to stay the same. Plus the Devs have taken a different approach each patch. Instead of nerfing classes, they have been buffing lower classes by 3%, 5% etc to bring them up to the level of the top classes. I like this approach better than gutting classes at the top. I like the new lead dev that does this new approach to balancing.
You realize they can just alter the augment(s) when engaged in PVP, yeah? Doesn’t affect your dragon slaying my dude.
Was anyone in here honestly complaining about WW’s PVE throughput ?
pvp is a sidegame, look at the state of pvp the last 4 expansion. Let’s be real here, they haven’t been balancing it all. This game was and always will be around pve content balancing.
I think it should be noted that now that hp levels have increased the superfast games have also generally come to an end.
WW is not broken and nerfing does not seem justified.
Interestingly the first day of the EU arena championships there was not a single WW played. In the US WW featured a lot more, however the moment one team brought out a sub rogue and killed the WW on the match opener, the WW was sat in place of an arms warrior.
Nerfs won’t come because it will make games run quite long and could result in a situation where WW simply no longer competes.
They won’t touch classes for PVE. But lets say argument sake for pvp Julesx as you say, you are right. Windwalker was slightly represented in NA with 2 teams. There are only 2 main WWs that are excellent in pvp in the tournament that do well Drake and TrIll . Other than that, more teams had arms warrior, fire mage, holy paladin, elemental shaman or shadowpriest. Those were the most played in the tournament. WWs were a few only and that’s about it. There are many other classes not represented at all, which goes back to my main point this game is not balanced around pvp at all. They only balance things around PVE. PVP is a mini side game to do from time to time for fun.
PVP in this game has always been the side game. I don’t think Blizzard have even ever pretended that PVP was equivalent to PVE.
If someone wants a game where PVP is at least half the focus, then they need to play a different game.
