WW Monk was really good on beta for a while and got nerfed like 12x. Now it’s doing subpar damage. Blizzard has, like it or not, decided that WW monk’s spec identity will be centered around damage. WW monk needs to be doing more than just “good damage” to be viable. Its damage needs to be borderline broken because that’s all the spec brings to the table. If DH or warrior, for example, are doing as much or close to as much damage as a WW, there’s no reason to bring the WW. WW got a redesign for TWW which is fine but it did not include any additional CC, utility, or survivability. And if that’s how Blizzard wants the spec to be, then fine. But give it an appropriate amount of damage to compensate.
I agree, nerf warlocks.
And mages.
Tbf nothing on beta is doing enough damage
im ready for another wod s1
feral druid is supposedly going to be good? might be time to revisit my old tried and true
fury war frost dk unholy dk ele frost mage arcane mage sub rogue assa rogue all 3 lock specs, list can go on forever about what does a lot of dmg on beta, ww not being one of them.
boomkin is doing slightly more or less dmg then tanks in M+ they still got balance to work on lol pve is bad rn i cant imagine how bad pvp is on beta
Idk maybe ur right but I was doing shuffles on beta for a good bit and every game felt like I could get up and go to the bathroom and come back to the same round
I’ve played a bit as well and rounds usually only seem to last long if theirs an rdruid in the game.
Things like ww, enhance, bm, ret and fire mage probably need damage buffs.
but most top end players beta tier lists have put WW at A or B tier
but S1 of every xpac always has HUGE tuning changes first 1-3 weeks so beta numbers are kinda w.e
beta is like 95% pve tuning then pvp after thought then on release they do SUM pvp changes
I’ve seen 1 tier list where it’s in A and that’s because he added an A+ tier, it’s definitely mid to bottom of the pack and definitely lacks in damage considering FoF and RSK both hit for less or same as DF s4 numbers.
They redesigned WW to be more of a sustained spec, not that super bursty anymore. But they haven’t gave them back some cc like FoF Stun or at least something like 25-30 sec cd on Leg Sweep, nor more options to generate the needed uptime. Even Warriors have better CC and mobility these days.
They also dropped quite some defense by removing Dampen Harm and making some heals passively on damage abilities, so you lose control of when you use them.
That is why ww sustained damage must be one of the highest in PvP to be a competitive spec. The line between balanced and overtuned might be very small, but currently the damage of WW is at least 10% too low of where it should be in PvP, probably even more.
I haven’t seen a single top end player so far, who rated WW as good, strong, scary or what ever. Its mostly the opposite! They all rate ww somewhere between middle of the pack and trash tier.
It kinda stinks.
We have around 8 million HP. Damage is too low and healers are too strong to do anything that feels impactful.
i was really hoping with the ww “rework” itd make ww less one dimensional than “BIG DAM GAS GAS GAS GAS”
but unfortunately it looks like thats still the model they’re going with, and they took away all the gas, so whats the point lol
They also cut down our mobility a bit, took away dampen harm, and forced us back into using SEF clones. Which is the only offensive cooldown in the game that can potentially nerf your damage after you press it.
you could buff ww’s RSK and FoF damage by a crazy number like 75% and ww still would only do normal damage
ww mobility literally hasnt evolved since mop other than keefers and now keefers is gone and replaced with 2 meme talents no one will ever take
i cant imagine fighting an evoker or mage of any spec in tww lol
Yeah, its a nightmare.
Especially since they buffed evoker mobility even further. Imagine that they get a blink every time they use hover! That it was a sprint and a freedom with 75% uptime wasn’t enough yet.
Good. Im happy they toned tgem down. Ww damage was stupid.
