WW Class Set

Good news they are at least taking out rng it seems from the 2 piece anyway.

Windwalker

Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible: 2-Set Bonus has been redesigned – Rising Sun Kick deals 12% increased damage and goes nova, dealing Shadowflame damage to all enemies within 8 yards.

Four set change as well now.

  • (4) Set Bonus: Fists of Fury deals 25% increased damage to the primary target and increases Shadow and Fire damage you deal to all targets hit by 40% for 15 sec.

  • Developer’s note: This hotfix replaces the existing 10.1 Windwalker Class Set Bonus with a new effect. While we loved the fantasy of granting Windwalkers an additional spirit, we heard your feedback around the resultant lack of control loud and clear and are making this change as a result.

“loved the fantasy of granting Windwalkers an additional spirit” line is pretty concerning though ngl.

Yeah I don’t like the idea the developers like making us a pet class, it’s completely counter to what we are

i still refuse to play bonedust brew

I wish they would change SEF to be like Jojo stands. Summon the spirits on-top/attached to us and then just split out damage the same way. Xuen should be like that Elden Ring boss Godfrey with a spectral tiger hanging off us.

I despise watching my clones refuse to copy my abilities for some stupid reason and not only losing the extra damage, but actually doing less than if I hadn’t used it.

No idea what that is, can you explain?
Do you know the original SEF spell from mop/wod? That’s what I wish for back, what great times

Yeah I’ve wanted xuen to be a buff on us instead of a pet since MoP, it just doesn’t make sense for us to summon things

4 Set is updated now. I support it since it is FoF based and we always use FoF. I just hope the numbers work out. With RSK being fire damage with the 2 set this will add a nice bonus.

Before anyone complains about how basic it is just remember its not summon that only comes out when we autoattack… which WW monk doesn’t do.

I’m mentally seeing open with FoF to debuff everyone with the new 4 set bonus making them take more fire damage, then blast everyone with a massive RSK which now also goes nova adding the needed fire damage and hopefully pixels to match.

Like a fiery flip kick that explodes in fire pixels, nuking a group of mobs.

Our class really is just gonna be swapping between two shadowlands abilities from here on out, huh.

Says who? Isn’t celestials part of monk lore?

Isn’t throwing fiery barrels of alcohol, shooting chi balls (haduken), and splitting into three does not make sense for monk in the traditional sense. Monk is simply blizzard’s interpretation

I’m sorry point to where it says master summoner

Both of those are seen in hong kong cinema and kung fu novels/comics. Sung Wukong’s main ability was to split himself with cloning techniques, and chi energy attacks is in literally dozens of kung fu amd cultivation stories

I should have been more clear, not “traditional” but a “realistic” monk. If you are comparing ww monk to sun wukong then you should be more clear. I mean look at your toon, you are a monk in fairy costume. By your logic, monks can’t wear such things and furthermore, only monkeys can be monks. You are a walking contradiction.

Xuen is part of wow monk lore. Take a look at the stories on wowpedia. Blizzard can have their own interpretation of monk fantasy. Now if your argument was tiger makes ww monk playstyle feel clunky that is another story.

Also, I looked up sung wukong powers and he can summon local deities so…

Yeah because it’s funny. How I choose to mog proves nothing about how the class was originally designed for and beyond stupid to compare.

Where did I say I’m comparing monks to sun wukong specifically?
You mentioned about splitting images and I just pointed out the most famous version of a kungfu fantasy character having the ability.
However, I currently hate the post legion SEF and would like to see it go back to it’s superior mop/wod versions or just get removed completely if not

Chris Kaleiki straight ripped monk design right out of kung fu fantasy novels/comics/movies using them as continuing basis for reference is just fine

And channeling him and borrowing his power into themselves infinitly makes more sense than literally summoning the guy and is closer to the source material blizzard ripped off in the first place for the kung fu class.

If you want to go there, maybe you should go reread the stories and see the martial arts came before the celestials and in fact the celestials were freed from mogu imprisonment by those first martial artists, the only thing the celestials did for the monks was teach them to harness the internal power within themselves to strengthen their bodies, enhancing their martial arts they already taught themselves.

Yeah because the playerbase never influenced design of specs and classes before because they liked it a different way, because blood dk is a dps spec and frost is the tank spec still right?

But again point to where the description for the bare knuckle brawler says something about relying on summons, I’m waiting

Not everyone wants to be some edge lord about mogs either, but here you go does this mog make you feel better?

Way to take my statement out of context lol

Honestly I am not going to write a rebuttal to all of your nonsensical logic because it is clear you are arguing for the sake of arguing.

Read my other comment that wukong can summon. Instead of straight insulting my intelligence, can you make a strong argument for why summoning a tiger is bad for monks? Probably not

Read the story, only things he summons to fight for him are duplicates made from his hairs.

Maybe you need to read the story. He can summon deities. Here I will help you

Chapter 46 page 46 volume 2

The irony, since you brought up my mog
