yes… ret is broken, it certainly has more mobility than a DH, more healing than a DH, more CC than a DH, and more defensives than DH. Damn ret paladins, they really have it all… dont they ? *sarcasm for those who didn’t understand (dh has all of those above better than ret paladin, + a mortal strike effect) *
Interesting take coming from the Warcraft equivalent of a burn phone. If you were really that curious, you could open wowarmory and type in “Seratox”, but I suspect that might be too much work for that world-renowned European work ethic we hear so much about.
Demo needs gutting, the spec should be nowhere near pvp.
But destro, nah. Destro dmg is mid right now, idk why US thinks destro is good, but check eu 3’s. It’s so binned.
And everything is durable rn, everything feels tanky. It’s not just locks lol. Destro got hard carried by flame rift last season and fell off after that change.
100% same as bm. It’s a playstyle that to me doesn’t suit pvp. For example, your doing dmg with an MS effect whilst getting to spam fears and control the game, ontop of that since demo plays with pet right now, it’s tankier. Pet specs just shouldn’t be in the game. Like playing destro into demo is pretty one sided, now add spriest + rsham on top of that and your not even getting to do dps because your killing observer, obelisk, pysfiend, totems, over and over.
Boomy/rogue, boomy/dh, boomy/demo, mage/feral, demo/frost are the comps to me that feel a bit to good right now.
Blizzard has NA and EU advisors for balancing. The problem is their advisors, being the devious employees of Big Warlock that they are, would rather perpetuate their precious caster meta than balance the game.
“Hard CC is OP” suddenly after 20 years, and most of it being nerfed, is lowkey gaslighting… And the true culprits of classes feeling unplayable situationally more than before are sloppy unprunings, damage trickling… and micro-cc specifically this xpak. Utility, mobility and support/misc button bloat and cooldown imbalances can also be argued.
I think all such issues result from the modern design such as unprunings being maybe rushed, and imbalanced, and poor PvP-specific feedback and testing management. They could be averted by either reverting from some of the DF designs (which probably won’t happen), or just better testing and balancing going into future xpaks (obviously). Of course, each change should (have in 10.2!!) be tested, balanced and discussed thoroughly before its implementation fundamentally changes how the game has worked for many years. Still, I think we’d be better served if the core design issues of the recent years were addressed without the bandaid or break mentality we’ve been seeing with changes basically since WoD…
Specifically for Balance Druid, I’m genuinely looking for reasonably balanced… suggestions for how its toolkit can and should be changed to accommodate a supposed nerf to Cyclone. At this point, I don’t disagree with it probably being a good idea. However, just nerfing it will make the spec a fodder for melee cleaves more than it already is. Personally, I wish to see something more passive to help with survivability, and something to help with casting or dotting (could be done via – some examples: buffing Thick Hide or Matted For, adding an effect such as small shields or even just a small AoE reduction from Friends of the Fay… or via PvP Talent adjustments, e.g. Moon and Stars protects Wrath/Starfire Casts for a few sec, Dying Stars making Moonfire and Sunfire apply both in Incarn… Weaker, passive Thorns or a more well-rounded version of Celestial Guardian – of course after tuning.)
