Ww and mw gear interchangeable?

My guild leader wants me to raid as WW in 11.1 but my main spec will be MW as i play alot of m+. I was just wondering if i use my mw gear to raid just with different trinkets and weapon will i still be able to get good dps or do i need 2 sets of gear?

Cheers

Let me open by saying I do not heal so take that into consideration.

But WW stats are Vers and Crt/Mastery but MW stats are Haste and Crit. Your stats would be really off if you just tried to keep the same gear but only swapping trinkets/weapon.

WW can easily swap to Brew but not so much to a MW.

I think WW is swapping to Mastery+Haste as their main stat with the changes, could be wrong tho.

You are correct.

Agility > Mastery = Haste >> Versatility = Crit

Who cares about secondary stats… Unless you’re fighting for the top 0.1% with both specs (which I highly doubt), it’s not THAT big of a deal.

Most trinkets work fine for both specs but you’ll really need an agi weapon.

Also. There are enchants, so remember to have two legs and so.

WW’s stats haven’t been Vers and Crit/Mastery all expansion. They massively increased the value of Haste going into TWW and recently buffed Mastery by a large amount for the 2nd time this expansion.

Haste was the top stat in Season 1 and Mastery is now slightly ahead of it for Season 2.

I’ve never even heard of a Windwalker in my life though, so I could be wrong. (I’m not)

Literally every top dps log for WW has Mast/Crit and a mix of Vers then some haste.

Maybe play more and drink simulation kool aide less.

I’m not sure what you’re looking at to draw that information, but that page shows that the gems and enchants that people are using all have Haste on them, which is the only consistently deterministic gear choice on there, the rest has some variance due to whether or not things drop.

If you’re just looking at the highest of M+ logs then Vers will jump out because they need it to survive big hit mechanics, not because it’s the best for damage. Anyone who isn’t playing at that highest of high key levels doesn’t need to stack Vers to survive.

My man is using tier set stats as the basis for his conclusions.

I can’t. This is too troll.

Serious Answer:

Mistweaver uses Haste > Crit
Windwalker uses Haste = Mastery

You can change a large part of your secondaries by just crafting extra rings or changing out rings/trinkets.

It depends if the secondary stats line up. For most content it doesn’t really matter, but if you want to be “optimal” you should try to replace for the main stats but if you dont want to, just swap trinkets and weapons.

For all the, let’s say, “criticism” you’ve been giving Peak, it is beyond silly that you don’t even know the most significant development of this expansion for ww. And now you’re trying to double down on it. Amazing.

If you’re Fistweaving on MW you’re running Haste/Mastery, so based on what people here are saying, it’s easily interchangable.

Otherwise, yes, but likely a tiny bit less value than if you were actively persuing those stats.

There is a lot of overlap between mw and ww. My suggestion would be to sim and gear for the activity you prefer and let the other one do worse.

If you want to split the difference I’d suggest going haste/vers for both. For m+ you’ll want crit over mastery to get more healer damage.

This is what I’ll be doing on my monk. I’m probably going to dps in raid and be a float healer for raid and heal m+ for a guild group. So I’m going haste/vers. Which will be a pain because I’m geared for brewmaster right now – crit/vers.
