WW 2h vs dual wield: which one is actually better?

All the guides I’ve seen states that it is better to go with dual wield due to double weapon enchants, yet when I sim on raidbots the simulation results shows that an agility staff/polearm of the same ilvl (418) does more damage than 2 (418) agility one handed swords. Right now it is simming 300dps more.

What gives?

2H is a stat stick and allows for larger numbers. Dual Wield allows for double enchants and generally more efficient damage that isn’t relying heavily on big hits.

A perfect world, 2H will do more damage, but in the consistent world DW is stronger. 300 DPS also is negligible.

Here’s the real question, though! Does a crafted 2H take up one embellished slot or two? If so, that would allow for effectively 2 crafted weapons AND the elemental lariat. Thoughts?

Crafted items don’t take up any embellishments unless you specifically add an embellishment during crafting. None of the embellishments are particularly useful or required on the weapon slot though.

300dps ain’t worth the hassle. You’ll make human errors more often than that ~300 dps holding you back or bumping you up on the meters.

But i think double enchants is the theory behind more dps. The 2hander is probably more consistent vs the proc rates of 2 enchants
