I am thinking of main WW monk for the first, how are we Looking for 10.2.
How do you all feel about any class changes or lack there of.
Newish to WW monk so wanted to get peoples thoughts.

We need more WW monks, I think it’s one of the most fun melee specs; WW monk, feral druid, and survival hunter.
There isn’t enough representation for those 3 specs so it’s always nice to see someone play it.
So yea, I support you going WW, may the light be with you or since you are converting to monk; may the panda be with you.

Ive had my monk for a few months now so not the most experienced here, but not completely new either.
Im feeling pretty good about ww in 10.2
Its gotten some nice buffs inspired from the 10.1 tier set. And they changed the 10.2 tier over the course of ptr to fit in to our rotations nicely.
Otherwise nothings really changed. Which of course is a double edged sword as some of our capstones need work.
Having played it on the ptr, i would say if youre having fun now, none of that will go away.

Honestly thats my problem, both ret pally and ww monk are pretty fun so i keep going back and forth between the two.
While yes i can do both i dont want to as i really will only have time for one, so its a hard choice to make.
However what must be said as i see your avatar. Bonus points for you as that hair color i ussally do not like, but doesnt look bad on your charater lol

I had a hard time leaving my old main behind to become a monk, but it was totally worth it.
Its the best ive felt on a character.

What was your main? I have seen you switched “mains” throughout the years. If I remember correctly, there was a point where you mained Priest right? then it was Warlock i think? maybe I’m guessing wrong. But ya, you switch classes very often don’t you?

You are correct about priest
And youre correct about warlock
But youre wrong about changing main often. (Other than the indecisive perioid of when im trying to find my main).
So i was a priest from when i joined in wod up until midway through shadowlands.
At this point i had stopped wanting to play a healer, and could not stand the visual effects of shadow meaning that i had no dps spec to play.
I then changed to be a warlock in 9.2 and mained it until summer this year.
By this point all the things i missed about having a healing spec and not being a dark themed class were becoming an annoyance, i found myself pigeonholed in to playing affliction all the time, and just not feeling it any more.
I started levelling up a monk just for fun as a throw away alt and loved it.
It solved all my problems and really made me question what to main.
I jumped around a lot between warlock, priest, and monk trying to decide what character to stand by.
But in the end even though i had no leather transmog, and had to give up all that i had achieved on priest and warlock, monk just felt like the right class for me.
So ive spent like 5 years as a priest, 2 years as a warlock, and a couple months now as a monk and hopefully many more to come

Ooo yeah i remember you now lol.
Yeah been a ret pally and i have like the perfect transmog and everything earned my artifact skin on my ret pally.
If i switch to the monk i lose alot of that so i debating if it is worth that. I feel like it is but then i start to burst on my ret and i feel like im gonna really miss that burst.
But from what i hear WW has some nasty burst too
What class changes? Afaik, we haven’t gotten any, or at the very least none worth noting.
10.2 tier bonus was mediocre last I checked. The thought of adding WDP back is eh… My key binds are already pretty full.
The class and spec trees still need to be corrected and optimized.

You won’t be adding WDP back without it seeing a pretty big buff.
Other than that there was some under the hood stuff;
- FLS is now a whitelist, so it only effects Monk abilities, no more needing to get FLS down to buff a trinket
- Some aura and spell tuning to help maintain some more ST strength as we get off the current tier sets
- Escape from Reality is now 1 point, so it’s easier to talent into if you need it

You three are the few that its been a joy to have some deep conversations with, and debates with.
But unfortunately i think ill be going with my ret pally. Nothing that any of you have done but just in general the monk community has really turned me off from the class.
But wanted to just really thank you three for being willing to chat and talk, was really just a joy to talk to you three. Hope to see you all around. Safe travels my friends

Thats a shame youve been put off of monk but paladin has a lot to offer as well!
You still have access to all 3 roles, and while you wont have mobility, you will be super flashy

So - I love how WW plays. I like the defensives we have and the mobility (for me, mobility usually = fun no matter the spec - ie Pali/DK not fun).
What I don’t like is… so much of my damage profile is from gimmicky trinkets, tier sets, or other external sources. I don’t like that I’ll NEVER see a PI, be put into the enhance shammy group, and lust means absolutely jack crap for me. To put it simply, the group provides NOTHING for a WW (save a DH debuf on mob’s cause as a monk most of our damage is magic which obviously makes all the sense in the world as to why we provide a physical damage debuf).
I didn’t think those things would bother me, but then they introduced Augment Drak’s to the game who never suffer from diminishing returns as they leach dps from everyone. “If” they happen to put a buff on you - its a ~10% dps nerf (not comparing damage meters to logs - comparing logs to logs) because of our conflicting talents and stat weights. In the end, it just all adds up.
Game play is fun but…

Always loved my pally and with the new changes to ret really l9ve the flow and play style very fun. ( and love rets burst one of my fav)
Wish i could love the monk just the community is a bit off putting. Maybe thats just something to see past i dont know maybe i should still think on it.
Honestly how do you feel about the monk’s burst is it good i feel like it is decent but i dont know how to compare vs ret as i havent gotten my pally caught up to gear with my monk
How is the single target and burst on a monk. I play ret and im wondering how comparable they are
