I’ve been playing a Mage for the first time and it just hits me that I can’t make heads or tails of what the icon for “blink” is supposed to be.
It’s like an Easter Island head with a blinking eye??
A random swirl of blue’ish color with a light sparkle?
Honestly, it just doesn’t look like anything, but I’m sure it’s supposed to be something.

It’s purple because it’s lifted directly from Warcraft 3 TFT expansion where the Warden has blink. It was just changed so it looks more like a generic human than a night elf.

The shape is of a head. The nose is right below the blinking light, and his mouth is that downward sloping line on the left, and his popped collar is on the bottom right.
Yes, Warcraft humans have some pretty crazy chins that stick out far ahead of their face.
That smear on the bottom left is a mustache and a beard, it looks more like a dwarf.
Is that supposed to be Antonidas?
I wouldnt be shocked if they confirmed it was.
The original icon was a Warden’s eye flashing through her helmet. They very awkwardly redid it when they gave it to mages in WoW to make it look like the classic bearded wizard.

If I stretch my abstract muscle, I can see it.
But for how detailed and amazing the other 6000+ tiles look, this one just… disappoints. Especially for such an ICONIC spell.

Huh… I always imagined it to be the flash of a starship that had just warped out of a nebula. You know, “blinked” away.
It’s a purple beardy wizard with a glowing eye, probably a moment before teleporting.
it’s a head that is traveling through time to blink and gets disfigured since time disfigures solid matter.
