WTF was BETA for

All this !@#$ could have been avoided if they listened back then ( not all but 90% ) But they didn't and prolly had no intentions in doing so. Just a load of BS on their part. So all these opinions are invalid either way.

So much hate on this forum, no matter what the topic is, its sad to see it cause at the end of the day we ALL LOVE THIS GAME, or we wouldn't be here or react the way we do! to most posts here.

If you're looking for someone to vent your frustrations on do it at the source BLIZZARD not at each other.

Have nice day.
I thought we were all still in BETA?

Whens the last time they listened to beta testers?

What is love ? O_o
I think the problem (Or at least a major contributor) was that they announced the release date way too early. For previous expansions it was announced maybe a month or two before release*. As a result they found themselves obligated to rush to get it out by that date. "It'll be done when it's done" went out the window. If they had worked on it for an extra month or two, if could have fixed a lot of the problems.

Blizzard, from now on, don't announce the release until you know for sure it will be in a good enough state.

*I'm talking about the final, official launch date, not the tentative, worst-case date they give when opening pre-orders.
Beta was for Ion to swing around his junk and tell everyone how great he is.

Also, "it was released early" doesn't really hold water. Yes, some of the bugs could be avoided if they took more time, but most of the problems are actual DESIGN CHOICES that the devs actually thought were good ideas. They still defend most of the WTF decisions even after the dumpster caught fire, its looking like only a huge hemmorhaging of subs is finally getting them to admit they may be wrong.
Beta was for promoting the expac. Duh.

Then why ask for feed back?
If you love the game, then be kind toward those who make it.

Rageposting doesn't help. In fact, it discourages communication.

Beta was to test what systems worked at all. Tuning comes after.

The gearing system clearly doesn't work, but Beta is too short a time to see where the real problem is versus players just griping about what is different (see point #2). It's being fixed.

Island expeditions are repetitious, and being given a re-tune. Again, something that needed a broader audience, over more time, to spot the problem.

Making feedback useful would make Beta more useful. I put half the blame on players who can't do that. No one is going to hear you if you frame your criticism between big slices of hyperbole, rhetoric and abuse.

But hyperbole, rhetoric, and abuse does get you upvotes and I need validation man.

Baby dont hurt me dont hurt me no more
The reason for Beta is to give you something to do during the content drought.

Beta has been used for nothing but promoting the game to streamers and such for a long time now.

If Blizz actually wanted to test the expansions proper it would be open, not closed beta.

You get useless results with small % of playerbase testing content and not even stressing the servers which is why everything goes to complete dog !@#$ on live every release.

The whole sharding tech was not tested at all, and it makes anything in open world laggy as %^-* in every bfa zone apparently.. you expect problems like this to exist for maybe a week after release.

But nah.. Blizz is a small indie company now and apparently anything in open world will have a 1+ second delay all xpac long. At least old zones aren't laggy.. not like there is anything to do in current content anyway.

Whoa Whoa WHoa!

Is Waycrest Manor actually a live dungeon right now?
You have to factor in that 90% of beta feedback is from players that think world content is challenging. It takes a lot of effort to sift through the piles of trash to find things that are actually worth changing.

At least it was another paladin. ;)
I got a beta invite. I'm so happy I didn't actually waste my time testing it and reporting bugs and feedback they wouldn't listen to.

Reflex. They know they should ask for feedback to make themselves look good, but they had no intention of listening to it.
Their usual expansion release date would be around now, so they'd have had several more months of beta testing to actually squash bugs that testers have identified, but (presumably) the men in suits told them it had to be out for mid-August or they'd hemorrhage too many subscriptions from content drought.
