WTF Is wrong with Kill Command?!

Decided to dust off my hunter from last expansion and with 50… FIFTY percent mastery kill command hits like a noodle!

Example - hitting target dummy for 2 mins using all cds and stuff.
Cobra Shot min hit 462 max 1225
Kill command (not using animal companion) min 587 max 1542

With 50% mastery it’s barely hitting for more than the filler that fuels it by reducing it’s cooldown. How in the world did this happen? Takes the fun out of the spec - I used to love stacking mastery and getting crazy 90k kill commands whereas now it’s like an auto shot.

There are two different legendaries for kill command, but with it being such a weak ability there’s like zero reason to use it. I would have loved to used rylaker + talent that makes KC cd get reset with cobra shot during bestial wrath to spam and get big hits, but dang; looks like that dream is dead.

Kill command with cds and conduit hits less than a cobra shot. Its really bad, in torghast once you get like 300% increase with 100% misdirect damage buff, mawrat food buff, and some others it actually does something which is sad.

The name should be changed from Kill Command to Bite Command.

nibbled…

Noodle Command.

I can barely tickle my opponent with it.

I’ve said it before. It absolutely kills. You guys just misunderstand.

It doesn’t kill your target. It kills any hopes and dreams you had for meaningful damage.

Make it infected bite and make it disease damage like spell damage. At least then it would finally make us better in pvp

Cobra Shot got massively buffed to push Arcane Shot out of the rotation (worst unpruning ever). After that Blizzard decided the dps was good enough and didn’t do any more changes, ignoring how the rotation is supposed to work.

Realistically though, Kill Command is still stronger than Cobra Shot, and it costs slightly less focus (30 vs 35). My logs show Kill Command doing on average about 4.4k per cast, whereas Cobra Shot does 2.6k per cast, with 513 Mastery, so using Cobra Shot to reduce the cooldown of Kill Command is still more efficient than ignoring Kill Command. You also get a mastery buff with Niya, which is the strongest soulbind, so that’s why the max value for Kill Command is a bit skewed. Although clearly it’s far from being properly tuned. Note that Animal Companion makes Kill Command do 30% more damage per cast.
