Why does it go through the Crossroads, back to Ratchet, and then to Org? Why isn’t it a direct flight straight to Orgrimmar?
Because that’s how the flight path worked in vanilla.
Flight paths have always been retarded.
Vanilla in particular, all the way through cata actually, if you didn’t have all the necessary “nodes”(discovered flightmasters), they would end up taking very strange routes.
I think it took all the way until WoD where they redid the flight path logic, giving more direct routes instead of relying on nodes, or flying in “tourist mode”(taking unnecessary turns because it looks cool - fun for a new player, but gets old later on.)
That is how Vanilla flight paths worked. Smarter/more direct to destination flight paths were added in a later expansion. I’ve made posts about it before. The #nochange group enjoys the ridiculousness of the flight paths. So it will probably stay that way.
People dislike this one not because it is indirect but because the fp to gadget goes right over ratchet
you got your #nochanges. awful things and all that.
From what I remember it wasn’t in the original version of the game, so it’s routed like that.
Goblins.
Unions, that’s why. The IUOGFP (Interational Union of Goblin Flight Paths) is very powerful.
Why does it cost 2.20 to go from Ratchet to Orgrimmar, but only 0.50 to go from Thunderbluff to Orgrimmar? That’s a much longer trip.
Again, unions.
