I go on the AH to look at Oily Blackmouth and see someone has 51 stacks of 20 for sale. Seriously how the heck does someone fish up over 1,000 fish unless they are botting? This completely holds the market at the price set at, or below, a whale like that.
Any thoughts??
Ok. What do you want us to do?
Some guy is selling 50 stacks of Wool Cloth. DO YOU EXPECT ME TO BELIEVE THAT THIS GUY SINGLE-HANDLEDLY SKINNED 1000 SHEEP!?

My thoughts? People fish?

They’re botting. Or they bought them from bots at a low price and are reselling them.

Have you ever heard of the term re-selling. Means you buy something n sell it later.
When you were writing this brilliant post, did you think it’s possible that he didn’t fish all of the fishes himself n bought it before by any chance ? No.

If alliance that is stockade spam. its great for that really.
The market for Oily Blackmouth on my server has been a steady 18-19s per fish for weeks, and they just posted all 51 stacks at 15s. So I guess they COULD have bought and are re-selling them… But that seems like a negative return on investment.
I really didn’t expect so many snarky replies lol. oh well, I guess my observation is a dumb one
This is just another fun part of the totally unregulated AH. People buy up all of an item then resist it for many times the price. They do this over and over to get a profit and drive the cost of goods up. Blizzard doesn’t care and has never done anything about it.
he could’ve bought 1000 fish and re-sold them?
They are fished by bots, then sold by bots to other other bots automatically scanning for undervalued items, which are then sold by bots to dominate the market on that item.
Stockpiling oily blackmouth early on when it was essentially vendor price (less than 1g for 1000) to resell it when battlegrounds were out was a reasonable strategy for a player.
I’m sure there is some bot activity on the AH but the fact is there are still profitable crafting vendor shuffles, which are one of the first things I would target if I wanted to automate AH play.
Its likely someone just bought up all the stock and reposted it but there are those rare birds out there that only play games like this to fish or other profession related type stuff.
i’ve seen lv. 1s with 100s of stacks of winter squid on the AH
I bought an entire bank alts worth of oily while leveling for like 10c a piece, lots of people did that
They could be using a bot to buy/sell on the auction house, rather than using a bot to fish.
