Wtb bitcoin as the new wow currency

Title.

I am tired of gold devaluing to the point its worth nothing, and deflation just feels bad. Wtb an option to use bitcoin as a currency in place of or alongside gold. We the players get to deposit the bitcoin, blizzard tracks it and takes a small fee per transaction (like .1% per transaction) and we the players can have a currency that doesn’t devalue, has actual real world value, and is something that can be used to purchase a sandwich in real life from our auction house shenanigans.

In addition, since blizzard takes a small cut from the transactions, they essentially monetize the economy, and make big gains themselves. I see this as a win win win for everyone. Npcs can still pay gold, and gold can still be used for repairs and such, but this way, player to player transactions and currency as a store of value becomes a thing.

Heck, this might be so lucrative for blizzard that they go entirely free to play, and abolish the wow token just to get new players to participate in the game economy.

With bitcoin, you can mine it on your pc for use in game. And technically, dogecoin might be better, but the point here is that gold is a broken system.

After careful reading and much thought, including some quick side looks at the current market situation AND the EULA/Tou, I can sincerely say…

No.

Currenty market situation? Bitcoin is booming, and blizzard can rewrite their eula and tos.

Wow.

I actually agree with you on something.

I also feel like there needs to be a tulip bulb joke in here somewhere, but it’s not coming to me.

You clearly have little understanding of how mining works, it takes a rather long time to mine anything worthwhile, it’ll be pointless for most people who use regular PC’s, they simply won’t have the juice to mine anything worth a damn.

While I applaud you for thinking outside the box, I think you’re fantasizing a little bit…lol

…which is why I looked them up first, before making claim.

There is yet hope for you.

A little bit. How about litecoin or vertcoin? Those are asic resistant, and that gives the playerbase a good way to get into the market for free.

The one thing I have learned, about the financial markets, is NOTHING is free.
Sooner or later, you pay.
Paladina is right; this is my gaming comp; NO WAY am I going to dive into real world speculation and all it entails on THIS precious little bebe!

Blockquote Not going to happen dude, Crypto is not replacing gold.

And why not?

WoW gold = ingame only. Lawfully gotten through gameplay , including but not limited to, selling of WoW token in the ingame AH.

Bitcoin = non-WoW currency. NOT allowed.

A careful re-reading of the EULA/ToU is recommended here.

One final note: This game has the usual hackers; gold farmers and such.
They are BUNNIES compared to what will come ravaging , if this game gets into bitcoin.

Why wouldn’t bitcoin devalue as well? Any currency rate is set by the amount willing buyers and sellers are willing to trade for goods and services. Are you saying that you would override the amount of gold Blizzard puts into the game with rewards and vendoring? And set a fixed amount of currency that the players trade around with each other through auction and other transactions? And why bitcoins? Why just not dollars? Really, what are you saying?
