For the last 3 weeks Many players have already capped out on gear/rolled Muliple alts and maxed out WSG Rep.
Blizzard release a Phase based Arena or something to show the community who the top players are on the server.

Haha I agree arena would be nice per phase but in no way would it be showing who the best players are. Every top team would be hunter disc.
It would be TBC all over again with 2-3 comps. But still I think arena would be a lot of fun with meta shifting every 2-3 months with phases. Then they could finally balance it around level 60.

I feel like people who think that SoD PvP should be balanced for dueling or 2v2 or even 3v3 should go to Blizzard jail.
Having said that, to me one of the next logical steps for SoD is to add RBGs. Warsong, a 10-man variant of Arathi, and a whole new 10-man BG to have a three-map pool for RBGs would be incredible.

Arena players are certainly not the “top players”.
Just like people with the highest parses arent the best players.
It’s just about who can cheese the game more than the rest
Arena ruined PvP in WoW. Arena was always a terrible format for an MMO and why it never worked.
Class design is balanced around large scale battles around objectives. This is why PvP in an MMO should also be large scale battles and not the mini-game of Arena which has no real place.

There is already an arena in gurubashi, feel free to set up your own tournaments.
Phased arena just serves to take players out of the world. If that’s what you want go back to wrath classic or retail.

This is correct. eSports ruined wow. Continues to ruin it today. SoD has made some steps to bring fun back, but it’s far from there yet. These esporty philosophies still plague the game.

Exactly. Imagine how many “OP Comps” that should win, lose because their healer sat a full 25 second sap. There would have to be some modifications made to multiple classes that are active only during arenas.
I just don’t see that happening.
