Wrongfully Banned - GMs refuse to elevate to the Specialist Team

It would be heartbreaking to me too, if I was banned for doing something that I had no idea I even did.
It seems like you should be given enough information to know exactly why you are banned, so that you could either fix it, or be able to prove that they are wrong.
Sad story…hope you eventually get it sorted out.

Well, sometimes the moderators can look into these cases and at least offer a status update or even a little insight into where the review is. A moderator’s inquiry is not going to impact the result, but a little information can be helpful to the customer.

In the behavior categories, sometimes. However, not in the cheating categories. It’s invariably “you’ll have to wait on your appeal”.

They dont give that info out for a reason to make sure the bot makers dont find a way around blizzards systems.

Let’s not jump to the conclusion that the OP was engaged in this (or any) cheating. He wanted to see if he could get help here. People gave some good advice and hopefully he can continue to pursue an appeal and get the penalty overturned (assuming his innocence).

Even if it’s simply confirming that the appeal is being reviewed, that’s helpful. I’ve absolutely seen responses from moderators confirming that an issue is still under further review for a variety of violation categories, including hacks/cheats.

To have my account wrongly banned during the holidays with absolutely no GM support to help investigate the issue, it feels like I’ve been robbed of all my joy in my off time and the Game Masters that are supposed to help set things right are doing nothing.

To be clear, Game Masters don’t really do these investigations. That would be our hacks team for the most part. Game Masters have specific policies and procedures that they have to follow. They will look for specific criteria that lets them know what steps they need to take during this process.

As the others mentioned, these is little that we can do here. The staff in this forum, like myself, are not Game Masters and we cannot directly assist with issues under most circumstances. The best I can tell you is that your issue has been escalated already. I don’t know why they may not have told you that, if that is the case, but is under further review.
