Wrong armor drop

I don’t know what is happening but I did a silver rare today and got Breastplate of Storied Antiquity

It upgraded to EPIC but I am a mage and can’t use it of course. What gives with the drops not being specific to the class/spec?
Why did I get a drop of plate armor as a mage?
This isn’t the first time either. It happens quite a bit with drops. Including in Instances.

Agreed, I don’t know if this is intentional or not, but its happened to me quite a bit
