No, they don’t
Yes it is called a critic and it is good in games to have choices they have a barbershop so why not use it so players can have CHOICES for their char.
A ‘critic’ in the traditional sense usually just reviews a work, right? They don’t necessarily tell the creators how to do their jobs, nor make requests/demands.
That being said, in the context of WoW…if Blizzard’s artistic interpretation of a ‘werewolf’ doesn’t have a tail, shouldn’t they as the creator of this version of a ‘werewolf’ have the right to say what traits/features they have or don’t have? We can have options to modify the features that they say we’re allowed to modify, but that doesn’t necessarily have to include everything, nor the addition of features that to them aren’t even part of the characters in the first place. Maybe to them, worgen having tails makes as much sense as orcs or elves having tails, and that’s why they don’t?
The side of an argument that does want an optional cosmetic will always have a better stance then those who don’t. arguing that someone cant have something they want becsuse you dont want them to have it will always be the selfish side.
Remember when Samwise drew a chad worgen with a tail?
In a way they do if they say that the play was not good due to the story and/or actors.
In the second part that depends on what the artist are going to do with there work say for example that a) your going to hang on wall then you’re right b) if you sell your art it depends on the what the customer thinks. Now blizzard is another kettle of fish what they should and what they is always questionable.
They have never had tails. Even before Cata. Why would they suddenly have them?
Easy same way Tauren got to be paladin.
That’s a bit of a reach! It’s one thing to review a product, and another to try to dictate alterations to it.
I’m not sure that’s true. I mean, what about the customers who buy the art as-is but then say that they want it changed? The artist has the right to ignore those requests, right? This customer already bought it anyway, and others probably are as well.
Perhaps customers have more say when it comes to specially-commissioned pieces from artists who do that sort of work, but that’s not really what WoW is so I don’t really think that the customers get that much creative control here. It’s mostly a take-it-or-leave-it thing.
What, they just…learn how to have tails? Where and how is that skill acquired? (I get the feeling this wasn’t entirely serious, so I’m mostly joking here)
Maybe the same way male night elves shadowmeld.
There’s a difference between an artist that produces their unique vision for the public to see, and a commercial enterprise that produces a product for the sole purpose of paid entertainment. The former can accept critical reviews if they want, but may largely ignore it. The second should be open to implementing change in response to constructive criticism, in order to keep customers happy, and increase their number.
Wrogen tails you said… well if you cant spell worgen…
Y’all and your weird fixation with tails.
No. A critic will also offer solutions to the issues they find. It is a very poor critic that just says “this is not good” without following it up with “an alternative would be…”
Certainly. There are however artistic interpretations of tailed werewolves, and specifically worgen, that frequently come out of Blizzard with tails for one. On top of this is service to the customer. Blizzard is a business. Just like an ice cream company won’t do well by customers by only making fish flavored ice cream when there are people who want strawberry, Blizzard isn’t doing well by not acceding to this request.
Do you remember what I said about offering solutions being part of a critique? You’ve done that here. I don’t agree with it, but how naked would your critique be without offering an alternative?
Well, deleting my Worgen if Blizz caves in to the Furrys and the fetishists.
WRONG. There’s a lot of media out there where they do have tails. American Werewolf they had tails. Van Hesling they had tails, Werewolf the Apocalypse they have tails, The Howling, there’s literally tons of Werewolves with tails out there.
That is your choice i have 2 might even make a 3rd if i can get tails.
And non female non red pandaren didn’t have tails either…and now they do.
