Agreed. Where are the full pre-rendered CG cinematics? Kind of my point…
that’s an in game model render. Genius
Those expressions are not made in-game. Keep reaching and excusing this garbage.
not exactly sure how you missed these…
they’re definitely brighter and more whimsical than past cinematics, but I wouldn’t say the quality is lower.
Imagine not realizing both images are captures from cinematics. Both.
Again that reach. Really trying out to be a new Inspector Gadget.
While technically. Yes both are Cinematics. Both are very different still. And both are designed, and created by two separate departments with various teams working on both using vastly different pipeline communications and development engines.
Original Cinematic at launch was created by Houdini and Renderman (they have added Katana into their mix since the release of WoD.)
In game cinematics are used with Maya due to easier transfers to their inhouse game engine.
Thanks, but those still have that washed-out look. Better, but still a far cry from what we had almost 20 years ago.
I wish modern stuff looked better than old stuff.
This is getting good. I’ve been bored at the office today, and I needed a good program to watch
have that washed-out look.
genuinely don’t know what you mean by this, they don’t look washed out to me at all.

I get it, you can be as snarky as the next guy.

Fair enough, but the result is it looks cheap and phoned in compared to what we used to get. It is worse. My complete point, in a nutshell.
As others have said, why not make a fair comparison?
Compare that shot of the Warlock to the troll and dwarf in the take flight. They’re not gritty grimdark but they do have that same level of exhaustive detailing and minutia.

Lack of gritty detail. Dirt under the fingernails type stuff. This looks like a Disney movie or kid show type graphics.

Don’t you dare speak logic in the house of lies

Is there one that make Wrathion look awesome?

I’m here for you friend, even if you disagree with me.
are you blind AND stupid?
Are you?
You seem nice, btw.
I’m here for you friend, even if you disagree with me
I’m not necessarily taking sides between you and the other person, but I will say that these current cinematics just aren’t it lol
WoW has always felt somewhat cartoonish, but it is getting seemingly worse
What is up with the new art style?
New? Wrathion’s looked like that for years.
And why are you comparing an ingame model to a cinematic?
are you blind
DEPLOY THE GARRISON!
WoW has always felt somewhat cartoonish, but it is getting seemingly worse
Agree 100%. Always cartoonish, but at least in a way I found aesthetic. Been declining noticeably these last few expansions though.
It’s still his ingame model, ingame cutscenes can be rendered differently than normal gameplay models just statically standing around.
So cheap phoned-in garbage. Got it.
Love the ghetto-clap btw. Always liked watching Jerry Springer.
