Mature dragons are called “dragons”, Wrathion is still a drake, older than a whelp, but not a fully mature dragon.

It took Awbee from Classic to WoD to mature from a whelp (6 expansions), Wrathion was born in Cata making him roughly 5 expansions old at this point (think barely legal but almost).

Its all kind of a bummer because I do like wrathion / anduin as either friends or dating. Then you got cringe bait mcgee over here making posts everyday about it and it just makes it not as fun.

He does, it was shown in BFA. It may not be as fully developed as the Dragon Aspects, but the Dragon Aspects have been alive a lot longer than Wrathion has. But Wrathion’s current Dragon form is way more mature then his whelping form he had during MoP/WoD. He had a big growth spurt in recent years.
(this is not to say that I ship him and Anduin (currently))
Though I doubt the whole “dragons age slower than humans” than has been posted. Wrathion’s thought process clearly shows that he was cognitive, self-aware and able to complete complex thoughts while even in his Egg, since he had stated that he planned his escape from the Red Dragonflight while still an Egg. I have no doubts, however, that Dragons live longer than Humans.
And, as previously stated, I am still not currently shipping him with Anduin.

I recall Wrathion was playing chess games with Anduin all the time during cata, and their emotes was super fun.
was about time to see a whole new expansion about them.
The only way any type of romance could happened with Wrathion would be if in the new expansion he is reveal to be Eldest, First, Prime or Proto Dracthyr directly from Deathwings own DNA/Genes… THe realisation would probably bring some drama that Anduin as his now Broken self could understand and help heal… also making his age problem kinda mute… but I’m joking.
In any case this “Type” of splise of life story belong in books or games that incorporate it as part of a story gameplay like SWTOR, Dragon Age, Witcher etc… it has no place in WoW other than a few open world lines to sprinkle and keep the fans guessing or engage. (IMO)
you know the funny part OP is i could see blizzard giving exactly what you want(in the context of what this thread asks for) and then STILL not give you the lgbt relationship you want
because you have always misunderstood their relationship. christie golden didnt write them up the way she did to make them gay. to think they are is sets back the agenda of anti-toxic masculinity that blizzard has been deploying into the game for a while now

Which is fine. I’m not a serious shipper either but I am extremely tired of people pretending this dude is a toddler. Thank you for understanding that Wrathion has matured.

Every definition we can use makes Wrathion underage. Unless Blizzard says otherwise, he is classified as underage.
Supposedly, and I can’t really confirm this, people have started getting banned on some art sites for posting their weird fanfiction stuff on Anduin/Wrathion. The sites are just places to host art and have no idea of the going ons when it comes to this stuff. IF, and yes that’s an if, people are getting bans for it, it would mean Blizzard has started to send out legal notices on this crap.
Maybe cooldown on the pedo stuff until Blizzard actually says one way or another. It’s fine to “ship” two characters, it’s not fine when everything we know puts one of those characters underage.

Unfortunately, the story team has the memory of a goldfish and so Wrathion’s statement might as well have never been made; they’ve likely already forgotten about it. Don’t expect them to do literally anything we type here - I’m not even sure they read the lore forum.

This is what I am actually hoping for. Him and his “Auntie” Jaina had lots of time to develop in Shadowlands. I hope the people that work there got to do what they wanted to do…
I don’t wish to see either of these characters this expansion. They are coming as cliche/stale as Sylvanas at this point. They need a backburn, maybe next time I see Anduin he might actually be handsome.
I look forward to seeing other characters develop and new fun adventures.
