Wrathgate?

I’m coming back from a break and haven’t kept up on the SL news, so forgive me if this has already been answered, but with the addition of Chromie timewalking will we have access to the Wrathgate quest line again? I exclusively played Horde up until MoP so I’d love to be able to see that storyline from the Alliance perspective.

No.

Considering they retconned it so that Sylvanas knew about the Wrathgate the entire time, I don’t see it returning, because the event in-game has her swearing she had no knowledge of it.

Well that sucks. :disappointed: Thanks.

There was no retcon, general discussion just can’t comprehend that a character can lie.

The reason it won’t return is because the majority of the quest took place in the old world, which got completely remade in Cataclysm. They’d have to remake the entire questline from scratch and I can’t honestly see them putting in that kind of effort for an old quest.

Didn’t the whole quest line take place in Northrend? That area wasn’t touched by the cataclysm…

No, the Battle for Undercity was a big part of that questline.

The Northrend portion is still there.

The Battle for Undercity portion was removed as it took place entirely in the old world.

The Wrath Gate itself yes… but Wrath Gate lea to the Battle for the Undercity, which is the questline that got removed and no longer can be played through.

My memory is foggy at times. I’d forgotten about the under city part.

Pretty much this.

How many years has she been repeating the same phrase?

“Those who served me were tools. Arrows in my quiver.”

Now everyone has pikachu face…

I thought you could still do it, up to the Wrathgate cinematic, but then there is no follow-up quest to start the Undercity bit. I have a frost DK trying to finish the Dragonblight zone, so I was hoping to see where it ends.

Correct. you still can. Finishing the questline up to the cinematic triggers Veteran of the Wrathgate achievement.

They removed the Battle for Lordaeron in Shadowlands for absolutely no reason. I can’t see them ever adding old scenarios back at this point.

Did they? I thought Teldrassil was removed (as part of the pre-patch events) but Battle for Lordaeron was still the BfA intro sequence.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they did, though.

“she swears she had no knowledge of it”
Yeah because Sylvanas would never tell a lie? Lol c’mon mate it’s always been a valid WoW conspiracy theory that Sylvanas wanted to kill Arthas, this plague could kill the undead, therefore she allowed the attack to happen.

It failed to kill Arthas, so she denied knowledge of it so she could remain in power and create another opportunity to get her revenge.

I agree with everything you said. To be fair, they could do a scenario/instance to do that part, but it would be a lot of work for an event the majority of people would skip.

Nope its gone. At level 10 you only get the quest that sends you to Kul Tiras/Zandalar. If you previously had the quest and try to queue for the scenario it will tell you that you are ineligible. Meaning its likely been removed all together. Really bizarre move on their part in my opinion.

Of course it is. Blizzard just loves removing the story from their game. Wasn’t the whole point of Chromie time to try and keep timelines straight and coherent? Bit hard to do that with massive chunks of the plot just missing.

Briselody! You’re so lovely now!

I thought I heard someone on the forums say there’s an archivist npc that you can talk to that will allow you to do Battle for Lordaeron and the jailbreak scenario quests; kind of like the Magni and Karazhan quests in Legion.

I miss my hat, but this hairstyle is too good to hide.

That’s slightly better if true, though it still throws off the pacing of the story to have to go and find some dude to re-enact that stuff rather than have it take place naturally along the questline.
