IMHO This was the best event.
The expansion where you played the event for a couple of days and then ignored the cities until the next expansion.
It was not a good time for new players.
At this point the game just needs to categorize players better than it does so the phasing and instancing design can be put to a lot better use than it is now.
Major flagging points should be:
- Flight
- PvP
- World Events
- Mythic World
These would be toggles the user selects when they are making a character, effectively consenting to one or more of the above to be placed in a world with like-minded people.
The Wrath pre-expansion event was one of the last truly great events in the game. The game world actually felt dangerous and immersive. We didnât know what was in store or what areas would be safe. I wish theyâd do more events like this in the future and forget about the complaints.
Yeah we donât have many of those anymore cough Dalaran cough
That would split the community into 4
We should just be in a mythic world with pvp and no flight
Thatâs how classic is and itâs way more fun than snoozefest cant die retail
That was no eventâŠthat was a major ZG glitch (that biologist were quick to grab for their studies of the spread of viruses.)
I know it wasnât a true event. But it was still the best of the bunch IMHO.
MaybeâŠif Blizzard uses the scourge event from WrathâŠand then ties it to the beginning of ShoadowlandsâŠwhere your character has to die to the scourge to begin the transfer to the other side and start your questing in Shadowlands.
Oooh, actually make real use of the debuff âwaking up deadâ for once!
At this point thatâs not a problem. I donât think so anyway.
At its maximum EverQuest had 300,000 concurrent subscribers going through a very difficult and grindy experience.
A better way to look at this is to attract as many subscribers as the game can grab and in its current state it grabs very few. Instead of locking everyone into this single mode of play the design should be focused on a multi-tiered, multi-configurable approach to precisely target many demographics within the Warcraft universe fanbase.
THAT is the right strategy for a game of this magnitude.
Well, there are alternatives for the players now.
Warlords of Draenor has garrisons, which players can customize to have the Auction House, storage, Void Storage, and to queue from.
Meanwhile, I will be on the front lines! I am simply far too excited to see the return of the Scourge Event!
After a couple deaths i didnt return to captial cities for a long time lol
No lie, it would be super interesting to see the level of community engagement the Blood Plague created. The quarantines, the safety zones, the cleansing lines, etc.
Im all for daring events that put WoW on the map. Theyve been playing it far too safe.
Wonât happen unfortunately, too many whiney cry babies.
If anything gets in the way of the routine, theyâll scream and scream and scream.
Ok boomer
Seriously, the game gets chaotic for a week once every ten years and yall gonna complain?
Legion had the best pre-launch events. Those invasions were so much fun. Loved the weapons and armor too.
Clearly you sir are the boomer if you thought I was talking about the wrath event.
Ok I donât get this âboomerâ thing. I bet most WoW gamers are Gen-X or younger. What am I missing?
